he checks the windows for flying pigs, but they musn’t have gotten the memo - the memo about jim kirk, getting out of a hair situation unscathed. not even a scratch on him. the lack of required medical attention is worth a kiss alone, but when he pulls jim close and kisses him like his life depends on it, it’s more out of relief that he’s safe than anything else. “didn’t harm a damn hair on your head ‘n you still gave me a heart attack.” he grumbles, because he just isn’t mccoy if he doesn’t grumble, but he does make sure to pull jim close for another, softer kiss, his finger curled under jim’s jaw. “damn fool.”
he’s standing there smirking, smug as hell about the fact nothing even remotely painful had happened while he was on the away mission this time. He isn’t, though, expecting to be kissed breathless because of it. It actually takes a moment for his brain to kick in enough for him to kiss back, arms wrapping tight around the other. “That is hardly my fault. I can’t help if you freak yourself out for no reason.” he laughs, grin wide on his face as he’s kissed again. there’s a noise when bones pulls away to call him a fool, hands gripping the front of the doctor’s shirt to real him in for one last kiss. “you love it and you know it.”
