quick story time so i work as a cashier and the other night this family came through my line with a couple of things and one of those things was a Wonder Woman lunch box and i saw it and said “oh wow i haven’t seen the movie yet, is it good?” and the younger teenage son promptly but quietly responded with a shy “i don’t know. my mom took my sister to see it which is cool and all but i kinda wanna see it too, you know?” and then he lovingly picked up the lunchbox and walked off with his family and i just wanna s/o to that kid: idk where you’re at in life but you seem like a precious cinnamon roll and i hope you get to see Wonder Woman soon bby <3
i have since seen the movie (w o w). and, like, i sure as heck ain’t mad at the mom for taking her daughter to the movie (tbh a+ parenting) but like, i just, i hope she takes her son as well because i think it’s a great movie for everyone to see, no matter what gender they are. because it depicts a female hero in the best possible way: as human. not as a sexual object, not as a perfect goddess (even tho Diana is probs the closest to perfect that this world has ever seen) but rather as a complex character who truly deserves the title of “hero.” and little boys and girls and everyone in between should experience that
