One of the best EsperNobody-Combos eva, in my opinion! Esper Shemhazai and Nobody Xigbar!
Name: Shemhazai, the Whisperer Zodiac: Sagittarius Element: None (use non-elementary Black Magicks) Place: Giruvegan Summoner: Fran Scion that is both horse and woman, wielding utter control over the souls that wander the underworld, in opposition to the Martyr Igeyorhm, scion of light. Though she once served the gods as a guardian, when Ultima announced her rebellion, Shemhazai went to her, whispering of the gods' hidden weaknesses. She then descended upon the land without leave of the gods, and taught men of destruction and evil. For this was she stricken down and bound.
Shemhazai is the only Esper not based upon a previous Final Fantasy villain or Final Fantasy Tactics Lucavi, though fans have drawn parallels between her and Ultimecia.
Shemhazai is derived from the name of the fallen angel, Samyaza. Samyaza's name translates to "infamous rebellion", which hints at Shemhazai's rebellion along with the other Espers. Shemhazai was the leader of the angels who interred with humans, and produced the Nephilim, as stated in the Old Testament (Genesis 6:1-4).
Two Esper in one capter, I'm so awesmoe, yeah... Nobody Saix and Esper Zeromus
Name: Zeromus, the Condemner Zodiac: Cancer Element: None (use Time and Arcane Magicks) Place: Stillshrine of Miriam Summoner: Penelo
Honoring the law more than any other, a scion of holy order and condemner of criminals. Created in opposition to Knight-Star Pashtarot, scion of light. He turns his deep, abiding hatred for those who break the law into living darkness, therein to plunge the guilty in fell judgment. Over time, he came to care less for upholding the law and more for condemnation, and so tainted by hate, he sought to condemn the gods themselves to death. Thus, did he earn the title "The Condemner," and thus did he fall from grace.
Zeromus is based on the final boss from Final Fantasy IV, Zeromus. As well as sharing the same name, they also have the same signature attack, Big Bang, and the theme of hate consuming them. His design moreso resembles Zeromus's alternate form.
Zeromus is a reference to the final boss of Final Fantasy IV. Zeromus is actually an extended version of Zemus which is Amharic for "Prayer". Perhaps because of the 'Zero' that is added, it means "Zero Prayer".
The 5th Esper/Nobody-Form. Nobody Larxene and Esper Mateus
Name: Mateus, the Corrupt Zodiac: Pieces Element: Ice Place: Stillshrine of Miriam Summoner: Fran
Scion of darkness ruling and protecting those who live in the underworld, in opposition to Lahabrea the Abyssal Celebrant and scion of light. In the course of his rule, he submitted to avarice, and the darkness took his heart, transforming him until he was both evil and corrupt. Then in his cowardice did he bind a Goddess of the Demesne of Ice, and using her as a living shield, he challenged the gods. Defeated before their might, he fell screaming into the depths of hell, there to be imprisoned for eternity.
Mateus's name is taken directly from Emperor Mateus of Final Fantasy II. His backstory in Final Fantasy XII also has similar elements to the Emperor's, particularly the concept of a once virtuous ruler getting corrupted and eventually banished to Hell.
Mateus is the Portuguese form of the name Matthew, which means "gift of god".
the second Esper/Nobody-Form from Erosia and one of my favorites. Esper Belias and Nobody Axel
Name: Belias, the Gigas Zodiac: Aries Element: Fire Place: Tomb of Raithwall Summoner: Basch
Scion of darkness and guardian of the Holy Realm, made by the gods in opposition to the Transcendent Loghrif, scion of light. Called the Gigas for his appearance: man and monster fused as one. Considered a mistake upon his making, and receiving not his intended role, the Gigas challenged the gods and lost. Scorned by his masters, he found another: the Dynast-King, whose tomb he swore to protect for eternity.
Also known as Velius, Belias is one of the Lucavi and the second fought in the storyline.
In Christianity, Belias means "Father of Lies". Belial (also Belias; from Hebrew בְּלִיַּ֫עַל Bəliyyáʻal; also named Matanbuchus, Mechembuchus, or Meterbuchus in older scripts) is a demon in the Bible, Christian apocrypha and Jewish apocrypha, and also a term used to characterize the wicked or worthless. Some scholars translate it from Hebrew as "worthless" (Beli yo'il), while others translate it as "yokeless" (Beli ol), "may have no rising" (Belial), or "never to rise" (Beli ya'al).
Belias's link to Aries and the Ram may be based on "belias" being similar to the French word for Aries, "Bélier".
Belial based on Aries the Ram The Golden Ram from two Greek myths simultaneously. The first cites a flying ram that saved Phrixus, prince of Thessaly, and Helle of the assassination attempt planned by his stepmother. That made the ram was straight to heaven and was made into the constellation Aries. Another share of the ram is on the Golden Fleece, whose golden skin would be the search object of Jason and the Argonauts.
