Day XIV - Sir Shirogane awoke with a startled cry quite unbefitting of a knight of his...former..stature. His arm and shoulder were throbbing and he was certainly not where he last recalled. So he did what he’d been trained to do. Take stock of the situation and make a plan, if need be. As Shirogane glanced beside himself, he saw a face he’d scarcely believed he’d lay eyes on again.
“Keith!” Shirogane reached out a hand to grasp the boy. He was real. Real and warm and there before him.
“Shiro...” came the Esquire’s soft reply.
There were others in the room as well. A small boy clad in cloak and spectacles, a tan Gypsy that certainly looked mostly male, and a large Fey nervously poking his head around the corner.
“You’re alive...” Words were failing Shirogane, he’d been so caught up with his trainee’s pressence that he’d almost forgotten- “What of the princess?! The manor was attacked, they all were. Did the Duchess escape? How did-”
Keith placed a hand on his arm. “The Sovereign Princess is alive and well. We’ve been in hiding for some time now.”
Sir Shirogane let go of his breath. “Good...good.” The Princess was alive, that was enough for now.
