What IS Voltron related, however, is some ideas I've been having.
I still have all of my research notes from back during the binge sessions, as well as the timeline and canon event logs. Still waiting on the dvd release for seasons 7 and 8, but at this point, I'm just assuming that's not going to happen; which makes me sad because dvd releases would have more goodies to look through (And I like my dvd goodies)
So, what's The Plan?
I haven't gotten anything in a document yet, they're all still disjointed scenes floating around in my head. It's essentially a rewrite. A script, moreover, honouring the showrunner's ultimate decisions in the series and justifying them with character growth and development. With some notable changes. And some expanded explanations of included elements.
Zarkon still dies. The first time. The Robo-version is a corpse puppet.
Allura and Lance still end up together. And it's believable.
Shiro still retires. And gets together with whatshisbucket, but doesn't marry yet.
Keith still comes into his own as a leader.
Lance grows as a Second, and starts taking others, and himself, more seriously.
Pidge is still a gremlin and Hunk is still a cinnamon roll.
Some of the more notable changes I'm planning out are actually some of the more important instances of the series that I feel could have been handled much better than they had been.
Allura's apology, for one, is an actual apology; and is moved to much later in the series to after Shiro's disappearance. It's a quiet moment, with nothing on the line, and most importantly it's something she does on her own.
Keith's decision to leave Voltron to work with the Blades of Marmora is related to how weird Kuron is acting. Keith knows something is up, but he doesn't know what, but he DOES know that he's more likely to find out working with the Blades. The private conversation with Lance is still originally Lance wanting to give up being a Paladin, but becomes Keith revealing his suspicions and asking Lance to watch over everyone and keep them safe while he's gone.
The Zarkon Fight at the end of season one has more thematic appropriateness, added to later when the team is attempting to get back to earth as soon as possible and go one that "vision quest" to unlock ftl travel. The 'fight your predecessor' scenes are going to be added in as the Paladins are being submitted to a final trial before officially achieving full control of their lions.
Adding on to that, the fight at the end with Haggar is not a multiverse-traversing mess, but a "battle in the center of the mind" that ultimately ends with Allura sealing herself and Haggar together until one of them is defeated. This is done with the knowledge that, regardless of who wins, there's not really a way to escape.
Spoiler alert: Allura wins. And escapes. And finds her way to the Paladins somehow. How? Something something Altean Magic, idk.
The final change I wanted to talk about is at the very end of the series. When the Lions reactivate and leave the planet, the Paladins are piloting this time. This is to symbolize that, though the conflict is over, their job is still not done. They've earned their place as the Paladins of Voltron, and in doing so have vowed to defend the universe from any that wish to harm it's inhabitants.
So, it's a lot, right? It's a lot.
I make no promises if or when anything will be written, but after seeing the reblog about how quickly it came and went, it makes a little more sense why things were the way they were and it continues to leave a bad taste in my mouth to know that. So I wanted to share the plans I've been very slowly chipping away at for a while now. I've got enough on my plate between work, my comic, my other fics, and commissions, that Voltron hasn't really been a priority.
I'll try to start writing things down and post snippets now and then, but do bear in mind that this isn't a full fic, or a narrative, or a webcomic. It's a script. Written with the full intention of taking pre-existing clips and rearranging them to match. Complete with scene calls, expression and read notations, and a sound track.
So forgive me for being reluctant to want to dive right in
so the house of representatives just passed a bill that will now move to the senate to BAN tik tok completely in the united states and they are expected to argue that ānational security risksā outweigh the freedom of speech and first amendment rights. biden has already said that if it gets to him, he will sign it. whether or not you use the appā¦ā¦.this is something to be worried about
before u have the kneejerk reaction of āgood I hate tt anywaysā or āmaybe ppl will go outsideā thatās not what this is about! the government wants to remove an entire app with over 170 million american users (who in large have used it as a platform to build community, consume and spread world news, advocate, organize), and try to force people back to us based apps like meta and google. please think about the implications. please think about what else they could potentially do if they get away with this. this could very well set a precedent for free speech & constitutional rights as well know it, and it is imperative we are on the right side of it
By the way, the actual language of the bill would allow them to ban any website or internet hosted app from a "foreign adversary", as described in the vaguest possible terms. This isn't about tiktok and will not stop at tiktok.

I canāt believe the Voltron crisis lasted only two years. Seven seasons in two years. Deranged. Awful time to be online. PEAK shipping discourse. And the evil is defeated.
The sad truth is that Voltron, as a legacy, has a LOT of story to adapt and borrow from. The downfall of VLD may have been generally accepted as having come from a writing/showrunning point, but the fault ultimately sits on the shoulders of the Fandom.
I've read the fanfics. I've seen the discourse. I've skimmed through dozens of "fix-it" scenarios that catered to that specific writer's interests. And believe me when I say those are often objectively worse narratives that actively take agency away from the characters meant to be making those decisions.
It was an Okay show. And it could have stayed that way! But because of fandom discourse and some people actually harassing both writers AND voice actors, instead of getting an Okay show that could have stayed the same or gotten better, we got an Okay show that got worse as it went on.
Managed to figure out the Canon timeline for Voltron, and now Iām trying to make a key-event one for something Iām working on.
The moreĀ āunnecessaryā stuff I cut out, though, the more it looks like a confidential military document lol!
Voltron is over now, and now the fandom can simmer in their respective pits of Misery. While I, and the one friend that chose to suffer with me throughout the last three days sit and contemplate exactly what went wrong.
And I will ask:
WHAT, IN THE NAME OF ALL THAT HAS FALLEN FROM THE SKY TO THE EARTH, WAS THAT SHIT?!
We sat. For Forty hours. On and off. Watching this show. I Defended it, I started feeling for it, I started loving the characters, and even tolerating the story, regardless of its inundated flaws. And I have to say: Season eight, the final season, it didĀ start strong, I was proud of it for tying in the old 80ā²s cartoon for that brief period of time (overstayed as its welcome was), especially since my friend and I had spent the previous two days going over ALL of the gundam, star, poweranger, transformer, Halo and voltron franchises to play eye-spy with the references and inspirations.
It kind of fell after that.
Iāll update this later with screenshots when I attempt watching this again just so I can illustrate my points.
I wanted to look forward to this. I REALLY wanted to look forward to this. I wanted to come into season eight fresh from the first battle with Flybot into the well written screenplay of coalition planning and prep, along with character interactions fitting for such a large cast.
That is not what I got.
Not even close.
After so long, of working so hard of getting as high as S7 did, we end with S8 and it has only resurged my original belief that the show would be awful simply because of the production staff.
YOU WERE LEARNING! YOU WERE DOING SO WELL! WHAT HAPPENED?!
nearly six episodes of filler before we get to anything plot related, two episodes we can skip. One, especially, that made me pretty self-conscious from comments made about previous seasons Iāve made; and a plethora of references to fanfictions I KNOWĀ Iāve read before. Of the Pack was prevalent from 6 onward. S7 contained probably the most used and well-loved AU ideal as well as some of the MOST BULLSHIT I HAVE EVER SEEN PULLED OUT OF A SINGLE HOLE!
YOU GET A VOLTRON
AND YOU GET A VOLTRON
EVERYONE GETS A VOLTRON!
Seriously. Please explain to me why everyone needs their own giant transforming, morphing, power ranging, mobile suit gundam, robot drag queens with a god complex.
Also: PLEASE explain why Hagger/Honerva, the most level-headed, and decent, villain of this universe went absolute batshit crazy over the loss of her emperor and the death of her son to the point in was paramountĀ to destroy all manner of life and existence itself. I understand the wholeĀ āIf I canāt have you, no one canā argument, but that whole grand scale operation was just....sheād have to have completely snapped for that to happen. (And no, Zarkon himself calling her a psychopath does notĀ give her a pass on that front. Even FBIās most wanted know their limits better than that.)
Also Also: World building, while a lovely touch, this late in the game was just....super uncalled for. Time that could have been better spent getting to know the new cast and dynamic of these character interactions (beyond Kenkadeās ONE vlog) would have been a much better and more logical option.
I am so mad right now, I canāt even think straight. Iām going to have to sit, rewatch and figure out a way to organize my thoughts; because I have so much more to complain and commend than just what Iāve put down here. Iāll do a proper review/rant later, but in the meantime, Stay Sane. And may the fates have mercy on your sanity.
and if youāve never seen voltron before and someone wants you to. Just. Donāt. Not until you know you can handle it. And even then, load up on asprin.
Okay, so Iāve been reading...an unhealthy dose of, specifically Voltron, fanfiction for a few months now, and Iāve come across quite a few that are fairly spectacular! But I just recently started reading a new one, and it has stolen my heart so tangibly, I cannot fathom how I can survive this onslaught!
THIS FIC IS SO CUTE IT PHYSICALLY HURTS!
Itās an AU where Shiro adopts Keith as a baby, and itās SoL from babby keef to grown and married Man!Keith.
Please, if you get a chance, go and read it, you will not regret it!
Allura didnāt magicallyĀ āguessā which lion would match the corresponding paladin. She assigned them based on everyoneās favourite colour and the Lions just went with the first kid that showed up because they were all incredibly bored from sitting around for the last 10k years.
Day XV - They couldnāt hide out in the meager dwelling forever. Sendak had been thwarted once, but it was certain heād show again. And with Leon Noir refusing to leave Shiroganeās side, it was paramount they find a new location and soon.
āLoyal Steedā indeed.
āArus might be the best place to settle for now,ā Keith pondered aloud.
āArus? What the Hell isĀ āArus?āā Lance burst, peering at Keithās map.Ā āIs that even on the map?ā
Keith glared at him.Ā āNo.ā
āAll the more reason to go,ā Shirogane added.Ā āThe less known, the more time we have to prepare.ā
Pidge raised a brow.Ā āAre you expecting an attack?ā
āI want to be ready, just in case.ā
āThat cave system I told you about is nearby as well,ā Keith supplied, folding his map to put it away.Ā āOnce we get packed up, we should move out.
Day XIV - Sir Shirogane awoke with a startled cry quite unbefittingĀ of a knight of his...former..stature. His arm and shoulder were throbbing and he was certainly not where he last recalled. So he did what heād been trained to do. Take stock of the situation and make a plan, if need be. As Shirogane glanced beside himself, he saw a face heād scarcely believed heād lay eyes on again.
āKeith!ā Shirogane reached out a hand to grasp the boy. He was real. Real and warm and there before him.
āShiro...ā came the Esquireās soft reply.
There were others in the room as well. A small boy clad in cloak and spectacles, a tan Gypsy that certainly looked mostly male, and a large Fey nervously poking his head around the corner.
āYouāre alive...ā Words were failing Shirogane, heād been so caught up with his traineeās pressence that heād almost forgotten-Ā āWhat of the princess?! The manor was attacked, they all were. Did the Duchess escape? How did-ā
Keith placed a hand on his arm.Ā āThe Sovereign Princess is alive and well. Weāve been in hiding for some time now.ā
Sir Shirogane let go of his breath.Ā āGood...good.ā The Princess was alive, that was enough for now.
