SeungLix Food Coma
“I’m taking the rest of the week off.”
The words, partly spoken (or groaned, rather) into his collarbone, don’t entirely come as a surprise. They went for dinner at his mother’s house on Christmas Eve, then went out for their yearly tradition of eating donuts for Christmas around lunch and ended festivities by attending the Christmas party at Minho and Hyunjin’s house with all of their other friends present.
Felix has refused to get up from the couch ever since they lay down on it after coming home, switching between happily recounting memories of the Christmas parties and lamenting his great misfortune for having eaten too much. Seungmin has been dutifully rubbing his stomach every time he complains of the ache, even though they both know he told Felix many times not to overeat and Felix did so anyway.
It’s not like Seungmin can fault him. Felix’s mother’s cooking is delicious. Donuts are delicious. Minho’s cooking is delicious. Felix’s own brownies are delicious. There were too many delicious things not to at least try all of them. It’s just that Felix tried a lot of all of them and Seungmin, burdened with the glorious purpose of taking care of his boyfriend, decided to try a little of all of them instead. Now at least one of them still has the physical capacity to walk to the kitchen and back for water or stomach medicine without feeling like they might explode at the slightest movement.
“Mhm, and what are you going to be telling your boss?”
There’s a little sniffle, Felix’s hand tightening on his shirt. He continues the gentle tracing of patterns on his boyfriend’s back, indulgent simply because he is fond and he doesn’t care what the world thinks of it. Well; he cares enough to usually not be like this at all in public, but here, in the safety of their own apartment, he can let every bit of fondness bleed through the cracks. Or maybe there’s not even cracks. Maybe at home he just breaks his chest wide open and shows it for anyone to see.
Hyunjin accuses him of it often enough, his best friend always grinning like he knows some type of secret, even though his own boyfriend isn’t much better. Worse perhaps even, because Seungmin knows for a fact that Minho is incapable of ever hiding his feelings entirely. There’s always fondness bleeding through the cracks with him where Hyunjin is concerned, always a softness to his gaze and his smile and the reaching of his hand and his general everything when it comes to Hyunjin. In comparison to that, Seungmin is an ice statue, the smoothest rock without a single flaw. Compared to that Seungmin is barely fond at all.
Sometimes he feels bad about it, wishes he could be more like his best friend’s boyfriend, because isn’t such unbridled, unhidden fondness exactly what someone like Felix deserves?
“That I’m pregnant. Food baby. I’m due any minute now if you ask me.”
Seungmin’s nose wrinkles, his gaze briefly dropping to the top of Felix’s head, which is all he can see where it rests against his chest, the rest of his boyfriend splayed atop him in a similarly comfortable manner.
“If you’re saying you need to take a dump, please spare me the details,” he warns. Felix’s body contracts with his laughter, delight bursting out and skittering over Seungmin’s skin. His boyfriend lifts his head to look at him and Seungmin tries to make sure he’s keeping a judging expression on his face.
“You don’t want to know about my shit, Minnie?” Felix questions him, pretending to be offended by this knowledge, even though they’ve long established that there are certain things Felix is free to share with Jisung - twin of his heart and soul and entire physical existence or something - but that Seungmin would like to stay oblivious to. He doesn’t feel so bad about that, because that’s just how the two best friends work, and Jeongin has put a very similar boundary in his own relationship.
“You can send detailed descriptions of it to your soulmate if you must,” he replies smoothly, sliding the tips of his fingers just under the waistband of Felix’s pants and gently scratching the skin of his lower back there. “All I would need to know about your bowel movement is if you’re constipated or having diarrhea, so I can get you the necessary medicine for it.”
Felix’s back curls much like a cat enjoying the scratches, his head lifting a little further and eyes curving with his happiness. “You take care of me so well,” he says, proud and fond and everything that makes Seungmin’s skin heat a little in pleased embarrassment. Pleased because his efforts are noticed, embarrassed because his efforts are noticed. “That’s why I love you.”
“Hmm.”
Felix strains his neck to get his face closer, so Seungmin indulges him yet again by leaning in and kissing him briefly. Just long enough to satisfy the need, so that Felix relaxes against him again and settles his head down once more.
“I’m so full,” he complains when he does. “I think I ate an entire elephant.”
Seungmin’s hand dutifully finds its way from his boyfriend’s lower back to his stomach, giving it another little rub. “Feels more like two elephants,” he says, and promptly sets Felix off in another bit of laughter. It’s always wonderful, that sound, always so lovely to hear, to feel it vibrating through his own chest with how closely they’re pressed together.
“Are you saying I’m fat?” Felix tries to taunt, but he’s still grinning too widely to sound truly upset. Seungmin leans down and noses his hair, breathes in the familiar scent of his boyfriend’s conditioner.
“Not fat, Lixie,” he reassures. “Pregnant. Due any minute now. We better start coming up with names or it’ll be too late.”
The laughter continues, giggles muffled against his chest, hands reaching to take better hold of his sides, air puffed against his chest. He keeps his arms safely curled around Felix’s frame, keeps him from falling off the couch. Any other time, he might have used the opportunity to start tickling Felix, might have teased him and messed around until the laughter became shrieking and he’d be begged to ‘stop, Minnie, stop!’ in between endless giggles. Tonight, though, he holds on until Felix settles again.
His boyfriend’s hands slide down, slipping under his shirt and then sliding back up, settling warm and heavy on his side and chest. He doesn’t mind, not in the slightest. Felix’s touch is never a bad thing, especially not like this.
“Mhm, I love you.”
Felix’s words of affection are wonderful as well. Little pieces of something priceless handed to him over and over. The continuous proof that yes, he is loved, and yes, Felix chose him and keeps choosing him, time after time.
“I love you too, darling.”
His boyfriend wiggles around briefly, squeezing him tight and then melting against him entirely, lips pressed to the pulse point at his throat briefly.
“Never stop saying that,” Felix demands, though it’s a soft-voiced demand accompanied by the sweetest little rub of his cheek against Seungmin’s chest. Adorable. Felix is adorable. Seungmin is going to combust one of these days and there’s nothing anyone can do to stop it. Hyunjin will giggle endlessly and tell people it was bound to happen. Minho will scoff and smirk and say he should’ve been better. Jisung will beam proudly at his best friend having such an annihilating effect, probably never having doubted it.
“What?” He manages to say. “I love you?” Felix’s little hum is pleased, warm, appreciative. “Or darling?” The sound that word evokes is different. Not less warm, not more appreciative, just different. Seungmin leans down again, presses a kiss to Felix’s hair and lets his hand travel from Felix’s stomach up his side and down his back.
“Let’s go to bed before you fall into a food coma on the couch,” he says then, which pulls a groan from his boyfriend instead of anything warm and sweet. Felix’s feet kick a little in disapproval, but Seungmin only kisses his hair again, kisses the soft spot just behind his ear. “Your neck will thank me in the morning, Lix.”
There’s more disapproving sounds, a little whine as well, but at a gentle yet insistent nudge, Felix starts to roll off the couch, pushing up onto his feet. Seungmin follows right behind, arms slipping around his boyfriend’s middle, pressing another kiss to his temple, to his cheek and then to the smiling lips when Felix turns to face him.
“Okay, but first I think I really need to take a gigantic du–”
Seungmin decides a tickle attack is his best course of action tonight after all.
