The remains of the Estellville Glassworks, which was in operation from 1825-1877 in Estell Manor, #NewJersey. The factory was built by John H. Scott on land owned by the Estell family. Daniel E. Estell bought the business in 1834. The site was composed of about fifteen buildings. The workers lived in ten to twelve houses nearby. The #glassworks flourished during the mid-1800s. It was possibly the first glassworks that had the capability of producing both hollow ware (bottles) and window #glass. The Estell family operated the factory until 1858. The remains of the melting furnace, pot house, and flattening house are stabilized and available for viewing. The site is located within Estell Manor #Park. #nj #njhistory #SpreadTheHistory #historygirl #estellmanor #estellmanornj #travelblog #travelblogger #blogger #blog #ushistory #americanhistory #journeythroughjersey #jerseycollective #explorenj #njspots #history #pinebarrens #ruins #archi_ologie #abandonedamerica #pinelands #southjersey #southjerseyadventures #exploresouthjersey #beautifuldecay (at Estell Manor Park) https://www.instagram.com/p/B-8SbZnDAkV/?igshid=1nbm08f1nxgzg
