Actually, having worked in a grocery store, I can confirm that you do indeed get people who come in with a list and expect somebody to walk around and find everything for them. Mostly it’s the elderly or otherwise handicapped, but not always.

I’m staff. And I am now horrified to know that people (besides people who genuinely need help) do that in grocery stores too. I’m happy to help people who need it, but when they don’t, they’re potentially taking away time from those who do.
Helping people who are disabled or elderly, I'm okay with. But when you're perfectly capable of either looking up books or finding them, there's no excuse for it, except being lazy. A lot of the times we try to point someone to the catalog, they say, "Yeah, but you can do it so much faster than me."
Sometimes when I'm just too frustrated or busy to do it, I'll be like, "Well, let me show you how to do it." And then, like the library song, I show it to them, do it with them, then smile so happily when they can -- do it for themselves. But that usually just turns into me doing it all for them anyway. >_>
Anyway. There's really no winning. Ever.
In other news, our Friends of the Library group had a meeting today and they brought a dog into the staff bathroom.
It was kind of super weird.
Not even a seeing eye dog. Just a dog. Joining the lady in a trip to the bathroom.
IDEK.
Karu says he was helping shelve. In the bathroom.
I'm just gonna stop now.
etaoinxshrdlu replied to your post: I played flute for like, 10 years. But now it’s...
I had that problem when I went on a piano hiatus. It should come back to you real quick with a little practice, though. =)
Yeah, a little practice and Basic Flute Fingering Chart for dummies...
After doing a chromatic scale a few times I was like, "OH YEAH OH YEAH NOW I REMEMBER THIS!"
But, to be fair, even when I played for 10 years, anything below middle C was always hard to read. No one writes flute music that low. Come on now.
that feel when your oldest friends on tumblr remind you that they'll always be your friends on tumblr no matter how long it's been or how far apart you drift or if you go on a hiatus and come back after a long time or ship completely opposite things or have different tumblr friend circles okaycryingnow

Oh man, I remember going there as a kid. =w= There’s pics of a tiny little me playing around with the costumed guys there. I hope you had fun, even if it was hot!
That sounds adorable! I didn't see any costumed people. I wonder if it was too hot or they're only out during the day. We did have tons of fun! Apparently I'm sun burned, though, despite sunblock. Curse you, pale, pale skin!
etaoinxshrdlu replied to your post: So Six Flags...
We only ever go when the weather says it’s going to rain, because usually it doesn’t, and then the park is empty. =P It’s fortunate that you got the flash pass, though!
It was partly cloudy with a chance of (meatballs?) rain, but not cloudy enough, apparently. The flash pass is the best invention ever. Except for the price tag part. Ouch.

etaoinxshrdlu replied to your post: I fucking hate the fade
It’s my least favorite part of that game, too.
Man, I can handle everything, even the deep roads no problem. But the fade just makes me want to fling myself off a cliff. Especially playing as a mage.
