I just read TLWD, and it's amazing!! And it got me thinking about Walburga(She is so beautifully described by u!). How did she treat her sons when they were tiny babies? Did she really torture them if they- I don't know- painted on the walls? Or other childhood quirks
I'm not allowed to make fun of this, but-
Ahhhh thank you!! 😊😊 Walburga is so interesting to write, and I was pleasantly surprised by how well her scene with Regulus went down with readers!
I think Walburga left a lot of the initial child-rearing to Kreacher. He would have been the one feeding, changing, washing, etc. Sirius and Regulus. Kind of like how the nobility of old might hand their children off to wet-nurses / maids / servants to handle the day-to-day care.
Kreacher would have probably been the one to be punished if the kids did anything 'too rowdy'. He would have had his work cut out for him - monitoring the boys closely to make sure they behaved, and also shouldering the upkeep of the house. At most, Walburga would have raised her voice at the children.
In their pre-Hogwarts phase, I think both boys would have been very subdued and obedient. There would have maybe been one or two instances each when they acted out, but they definitely feared their parents and wouldn't have rocked to boat.
It'd be once Sirius and Regulus hit the four - five age range that she'd take a more active (and horribly abusive) role in their lives. That's when the 'training' sessions began.
(And that picture is awful but it's also really accurate to Walburga's parenting style omg)
