Also, are Benedict and Cynthia going to be temporary, or will they be permanent figures in Harry’s life in this universe? And can you tell me which chapter they’ll learn that Simon sent acolytes after Nathan? Is this fic going to be a long one, like Consuming Shadows? Do you know how many chapters it will have? And lastly: will Harry and Grindelwald have chemistry? Because I love any version of Harry in fics who can bring Dark Lords to their knees LMAO

simon will oscillate between being a nuisance and an actual threat for harry, i wouldnt say hes an idiot though more just indecisive which in turn makes him difficult to predict and therefore dangerous.

cant answer about benedict and cynthia since thats a bit of a spoiler for the end sorry! as for finding out about simons actions its not confirmed but my notes have that happening around chapter 28 or 29 depending on my word count

were currently scheduled in for 35 chapters all up but that could change. it wont be nearly as long as CS though

and i fully intend harry and grindelwald to have a very interesting dynamic when they eventually meet. it wont be romantic in any way but harry is definitely going to intrigue the hell out of gellert!

ooohh interesting question!

i think raina would be a good influence on orion (if its orion from ybtm). orion is very...hmm...spontaneous and chaotic and i think raina would be a phenomenal grounding force for him.

she would bring a stabilising presence to his life and her ride-or-die nature for those she loves would mean orion would have someone who genuinely wanted the best for him in his corner.

for the other way i think orion would make raina laugh and be less serious. i think he would return her loyalty and respect tenfold and that that reciprocation would give her something shes been craving for years.

Hi Jordan, in YBTM (IBTY), would you be willing to tell us a little about what Grindelwald is planning without giving away too many spoilers? Like, does he want something similar to Tom in the sense of world domination? Or is he more like his version in the movies, seeking to overthrow the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy and establish a new world order in which wizards rule over Muggles? And what does he think of creatures, muggle-born children and half-bloods?

all ill say is that grindelwald wants complete and utter separation between magic kind and muggles and views muggle culture as inherently poisonous to wizard society

how he wants to get that separation...well...youll have to wait and see

I was rereading Consuming Shadows, and in Chapter 24, there’s this part:

“Unconsciously, he scanned the top of his Lord’s desk, when he saw the most curious thing. Open, directly in front of where his Lord was sitting, was a file. A small array of photos stared up at him. One, clearly a standard school photo of Evans, lips pulled in the slightest of smiles. Another, a clipping from one of the many articles written on the tournament, showing Evans leaping at the manticore. And another, from what appeared to be a party of some sort, Evans standing next to Korin’s offspring. And just next to that, the boy dancing with who Lucius recognised as Fleur Delacour, an assistant to the French Undersecretary. The letter he was attempting to take was suddenly immoveable. Lucius was so surprised his eyes immediately snapped up from the strange assortment of photos to catch the burning gaze of his Lord. The man’s fingers were pinching the parchment tightly. I don’t know if you’ve answered this before, but why does Riddle have photos of Hadrian? And what does Lucius mean when he thinks “he now knew precisely what had so enraptured the other man’s attention earlier”??

riddle has photos of hadrian because he ordered an assessment report on him and the photos were part of the research and clippings provided by his death eaters

lucius by this point has seen some of the shit hadrian has pulled off and knows hes going to be a serious player in the future politically. hes impressed and vaguely freaked out by hadrian so hes acknowledging that it makes sense that voldemort is intrigued about him.

I’m so curious whether Tom’s obsession and love has any limits, or if any version of Harry is the one person he could never truly turn away from, no matter what they do.

probably if harry ever earnestly and completely acted like the 'good boy perfect symbol of the light side' or perfectly and obediently capitulated to every single thing dumbledore asked of him.

part of harrys appeal is always his combative and argumentative nature. no one not even albus dumbledore or lord voldemort could tell harry to do something if he didnt want to do it.

she probably would have tried to america to be honest

or maybe demark norway or sweden since that would put him in durmstrang and hed learn a lot of combative and fighting magic which would have been useful

lily would have had to pretended to be a halfblood herself and come up with a more solid story to hide their backstory though so hadrian would not have pretended to be a muggleborn

After all the mess and chaos they go through, would Hadrian and Riddle ever consider having a child in the sequel? I can’t help but wonder what Hadrian would be like after everything he’s endured, and whether he would eventually reach a point where he might want to build a family of his own, and if he and Riddle are endgame, would Riddle ever consider the possibility of building a family with Hadrian? The idea of the two of them eventually choosing to create a family together is fascinating to imagine

children would be an uncomfortable topic for both of them

hadrian would carry the fear of becoming like his mother and it would sour the idea of ever being a parent

riddle on the other hand has no need for children since he intends to live forever and he honestly finds children annoying

if they did sit down and have that conversation though riddle would go along with what hadrian wanted. if he wanted a kid riddle would make it happen however he had to

Oh that’s 100% a Tom phrase to whichever partner I give him in a story. He’s just…continuously fascinated and obsessed with Harry - or Regulus in those AUs of mine - that he would be enraptured by the effect they have on him.

Hey Jordan, what are your opinions on Bellamort? Would you ever consider writing them?

I don’t really like romantic Bellamort. Not to yuck anyone’s yum, of course. I can absolutely understand the appeal! It’s just not personally my vibe.

I think their dynamic works best when it’s non-sexual, and falls closer to a worshipper and their god. Bellatrix is Voldemort’s most devoted follower, and I find that more intriguing when there’s a distinct lack of interest. Sure, maybe she’s attracted to the power and danger of him, but it’s more fascinating to me when there’s no lust between them.

I much more enjoy the thought that Bellatrix and Rodolphus are wholly, absolutely, totally infatuated and in love with each other.

So, I’ll probably never write Bellamort in any official capacity - if I did decide to include it, it’d be more implications than as a focus of a story.
