Sascha Vykos approaches your character and demands they hand over a rare book they have to deliver to somebody else. What does your OC do?
@robotslenderman came up with this scenario and honestly I had to take part ^^
Evie would know who they are on account of Beckett, so might try to lever that in her favour to try and convince Vykos to let her keep the book - 'he's chasing after a relic that could get him killed, would you want to inadverantly save him from that?'. I don't know enough about Vykos to know if that would work for sure but it'd be real funny if it did and Beckett got a letter from Vykos gloating about it.
Kara knows who Vykos is even though she’s never met them, and being part of the Sabbat, she knows a few things about negotiating with Tzimisce. She’d ask to be allowed to make a copy or to study the book until a set date when she will then hand over the book to Vykos.
Nyx might try to barter for it. She's an Autarkis information broker who's in debt to the Sabbat over some intel gone bad, so she might hand over the book in exchange for that debt being settled. Otherwise she's not going to push her luck, she'll hand it over and make no fuss about it. She knows that combat isn't her strong suit, and that survivng will give her the chance to smooth things over with her client.
Ethan would try to kill Vykos and probably end up being destroyed in exchange. But he's not stupid enough to die that pointlessly. He'd sooner destroy the book than let Vykos or any other Kindred have it, so would ensure that his destruction caused the book's destruction.
Rhys doesn't really give a shit about books, not even enough to deliver. It’s not her problem and she has no reason to withhold it. Chances are it belongs to one of her packmates and she has to pry it off of them when Vykos asks for it.
Roy would just throw a bunch of ghouls at Vykos to buy himself time to Celerity away, back to his haven where he can’t be easily found, and then let the city’s Kindred handle the fallout.
Roy’s childer would all have different approaches.
Victoria would know who Vykos is and knows that Dominating them into leaving empty handed isn’t an option, so she negotiates as politely and professionally as she can.
Delilah would have already made a copy of the information she wanted and would hand it over to avoid being destroyed.
Gina, being a Tzimisce herself, would fight tooth-and-nail to keep that book out of Vykos’ hands, even if it destroys her - she has it out for her clanmates and prioritises keeping them out of her Prince’s domain over all else.
Leon would fight and die horribly because he let his temper get the better of him.
Sarif, being an ex-Sabbat, would be wary of Vykos showing up in the first place. He’d be very suspicious that the demand for the book was a ruse, but he’s already had a copy written up by his ghouls so he hands it over and spends the next few nights looking over his shoulder.
Beaker shares Victoria’s approach - he always follows her lead on the running of the city and dealing with other Kindred. Polite negotiation while trying to avoid becoming furniture.
Charter came across the book when dealing with the Tremere and she’s probably mad that they didn’t mention that there was a Tzimisce looking for it. She’ll escape into the sewers, stash the book in one of her dead drops, and do her best to lure Vykos away from it and into the labyrinth of tunnels where she can lose them. There’s no guarantees of course, but she knows those tunnels like the back of her hand, so her chances are better than most.
Lisa doesn’t know Vykos on account of her youth and so at first she’s affronted by the audacity of the demand, and demands to know who it is she’s talking to. Should Vykos choose to explain, then she’d be inclined to hand it over to avoid being killed. Otherwise things might not end well for this Fledgling.
