Navajo skin-walkers: Humanoid creatures that can shift into their specific craiceann (creature). This is dependent on their parents’ genetics, and can either be a mixture of both parents or inherit one from a single parent. Mutations can happen, and this leads to newer, and creepier, shifters. They were once thought of savages and animalistic, but as they became more integrated into civilization, they became more docile and pleasant.
There are no distinguishable features between them and humans, except for longer life spans and their base stats (such as speed, stamina, strength, endurance) are higher than that of the average human. Prefer to live in communities and in small rural areas of cities. Usually go into mercenary or entertainment. Most enjoy the ‘city life’.
Families are like normal human families, with two parent’s that bond (not permanent) and a handful of offspring (2-3 children).
Official Language: Gaelic (Scottish Gaelic)
Ethnic slurs: Bosche (hard headed), Dal Khor (dal eater “vegetable eater”).
Woodland Elves: They are the tallest clan and, through careful selection, are made up of literal hulking giants. Compared against a human, they stand at approximately 6’5 to 7 feet (with average human height being 5’5 feet). They are greyish blue in complexion, and they older they are, the bluer their skin becomes. Humanoid but not all natural looking. Most have white hair, pointy ears, and abnormally coloured eyes.
They aren’t naturally aggressive and so humans were more welcoming of them (not that they cared). However, they are brutal and vicious fighters so it wouldn’t be wise to war against them, especially since they are way larger and stronger than the other clans. They live in one big community in the ______ forest, separated from other clans. The most common practice is alchemy, astrology and demonology. The second largest being military service.
Family units are large, group ‘homes’ with up to 3 parents and average of 6-7 offspring. The way life works is that the entire community raises the children, and all are ‘related’. But most usually closer to their blood sister and brothers and the caretakers that played the biggest part in their upbringing. Occupations and practices are decided by parental linage.
Official language: Sindarin (Welsh)
Ethnic slurs: Knife ear, Churka.
Ancient Woodland Elves: Are thinner, taller and their skin is bluer in appearance, prefering the damp cave systems of the mountains in Elae Minis forest. Are usually assigned in positions of high power and are grand standing. They have a different tongue because, throughout the years, the language slowly started dying as a new, simplified, version started spreading until it became more common to speak Sindarin rather than the ancient tongue.
Quenya, however, is still used in alchemy and demonology, so those going into such practises have to relearn the ancient tongue in order to study in those fields.
Official Language: Quenya (Irish)
Ethnic slurs: Knife ear, Churka.
Nalves: The product of cross breeding between clans. They have their own clan since they were banished from the human communities, and no other clans anted to take them in since they were of mixed blood. Are trafficked and used as slaves because they are seen to be the most inferior ‘clan’. They prefer to live in solitude or with family/relatives. Made mostly of mages.
Things have calmed down though, and interclan relations are becoming more acceptable. There are certain places, however, that still trade them as slaves and treat them as inferior.
Family dynamics are dependent on linage.
Official Language: Gaelic/Sindarin
Ethnic slurs: Half breed, Hybrid, Abeed (a word for slave as they most often get trafficked and sold on the black market), Boong (dysfunctional), Chi Chi (a mixed race person)
Desert Dwellers: Similar to humans. They have dark complexions and are often covered in sun markings (white ink patterns that stain their skin) and are seen to just wander aimlessly around the Dario Desert. They live in small communities scattered around the Desert and a majority are merchants. However, they do meet up in the main city, where the king of the region resides, to trade.
Families are similar to human families, except having more than one partner is widely accepted. So, people often have multiple parents and have large extended families. Are probably the most widely, accepted clan.
