I know I already did this on twitter but let's also try song number 84

Hello... ! I'm really into cynipid wasps and their galls recently, do you think you could post some?
It’s oftentimes very difficult to find good photos of adult gall wasps! But...I will see what I can find, and if I can’t find adults, I could at least post an array of interesting galls. I’ll do that soon. :)
Do you feel that there should be similarly strict feather laws in other countries? Or that people from those countries should not post their collections because it causes americans who see them to want to collect feathers as well? (This is not me trying to snarkily "gotcha!" you, I'm genuinely interested in your opinion of feather collection in places like Europe)
ok
this is complicated
a very good question with a complicated answer
I do think many other countries need better wildlife protection laws but also keep in mind that America also invented guns to better kill massive amounts of birds, and hunting and the way we see animals is so deeply ingrained in our culture in a way that it’s not in many other countries. There’s also the sort of global distribution of endangered birds- so many are in the migration corridors that the MBTA protects! Not a lot of endangered birds migrate through, say, England.
I think it’s fine to post feathers that you have legally, provided that you explain where you are in the post or the tags or have it somewhere easily accessible on your blog- and I think that collectors of any sort of animal remains should have the self-control to understand that illegal things are Illegal Here For Reasons.
etosaurus replied to your post “Positivity posts for an often negatively anthropomorphized and...”
yeah... it honestly bums me the frick out when i'm jamming about some cool animal or some act of human kindness towards a demonized species and then run into comments by incurious and callous people talking about how much they hate the animal. please put that nonsense where I don't have to see it.
honestly like were trying to have a positive and education discussion here please go take your anecdote about the time you misinterpreted an animals behavior as malicious somewhere else
you can be upset you got stung but like
go away and do it over there
especially when it seems they either didnt read or retain ANYTHING to do with the post like theyre just so fuckin offended that we think this animal gets undeserved hate because of that Bad Experience They Once Had like its ok to be mad dude just fuckin
make ur own post
etosaurus replied to your photo “aliens don’t teach Spanish class! (except when they do.) It’s Mr....”
god are you serious that they're only in one book? Daemorphing has spoiled me I forgot they weren't always major supporting characters.
I know, right? But nope, they’re just in book 29. I’m sad that we never got more canon Tidwillim content. Thanks @featherquillpen for filling this high-school-teacher-and-alien-brain-parasite-shaped hole in our hearts.

etosaurus replied to your post “no seriously how do you fix the activity feed on desktop so it’s not...”
go to settings -> on the right side click on Labs (Weird new stuff we're making) -> enable Tumblr Labs -> scroll down and enable Tag Crawler -> go to the post you wanna see tags on and click the notes -> there is now a # in the top left of the notes popup, click -> tada tags
i already have a thing that lets me see tags, the problem is that the activity feed is bunching up likes and reblogs together in a way that i have to check each and every one individually, instead of each activity action showing up chronologically
i’ve also noticed a lot of activity that just doesn’t show up on the activity page at all because it’s so unorganized and messed up and it’s making me uncomfortable!! i hate missing out on things
