Inside the cell peace,
For she did not hear the noise.
Staring at the box,
Yet she could not feel remorse.
Takatsuki Sen, her human identity existed for roughly 13 years. That was exactly the length of her relationship with Shiono Shunji. She was the star author, he was the editorm supporting her, a backbone if you may. A mutual benefit between the two. Money on one side and influence on the other.
- Thank you, Shiono-kun. - was all she could say.
She shoved the meal into her mouth. That trash said it was paté seasoned with liver. She had to hand it to him that his “cooking skills” were certainly not lacking. Not that she would ever openly ever tell this to anyone. It was delicious.
- Thank you for the meal! - were not the words she wanted to say. They were merely all she could muster.
Eating her editor’s remains helped her regain her strength.
Sadly, strength was not courage, what she needed the most. Yoshimura Eto was a coward. No matter how hard she tried she could not do it.
To cry here is to loose.
To feel sorry this far is to betray.
Up until now plots were her forté.
That’s why she made a killing with her books. She was that good after all. However her role was over.
The last wish was received even if reluctantly. The truth was out for all to see.
The people she met on the way were just pieces on the board, but she was unable to move them anymore. There was only one piece that needed to move itself, one piece that she could not discard for some time now.
After all Kaneki Ken and her were totally the same. She grew fond of him. Unable to love, unable to feel love. In a way a perfect match.
The boy had potential, but he did not see his own value so it limited his power at the moment. In a sense he was dense and because of this he could only move forward at a slow pace.
One step and only one.
It was time.
She wiped her mouth and stood up. Now she could hear everything. Pure chaos just as she liked. She did not believe in fate for she chose to act. It was her pride as an author to partake in the finale she created. She would hinder her enemies with a smile on her face.
ive been swamped with work so i didnt get to do anything for eto week (which im modding lmao) but heres some more picturs from my eto make up test i did a week ago!!
Summary: This was Eto’s last book and she wasn’t ready for it to end just yet, no matter how much was riding on it’s release.
Eto sat at her small table in her office, Eto was in the zone, her fingers were gliding across her laptops keyboard at alarming speed. Then she suddenly stopped her typing as if someone forcefully grabbed her hands to make her stop. Eto sat their looking at the screen of her laptop for a moment, she only had a page left to write before it would all be over. Finishing a page of her books never took her more than an hour, yet a part of her did not want to write that page. Eto knew that the moment she finished this book she would have to get rid of Takatsuki Sen forever. This book was going to ruin her reputation, it was going to end her career all for a goal. She needed to do this she needed to show a different side to ghouls, she needed to show the world all the little threads of corruption, she needed this to be a love letter to her One-Eyed King. Eto was willing to do this; yet a part of her was dreading it, and she wouldn’t admit it to anyone, not even herself. Eto glanced at the sticky notes that littered her workspace, she still had a two weeks before her finale deadline.
“Maybe, I could let this page wait a little bit longer.” She whispered to herself.
“I don’t want to rush it, I want this to be amazing.”
“I might come up with a better ending in a week.”
However, Eto was lying to herself, she knew that the ending she had in mind was exactly what she wanted. Eto just wasn’t ready to let all her fun be over yet, because it had been an amusing thirteen years, and a small part of her wanted more time, even if she was getting old. She was going to take a break she was going to get coffee and try to solve her own dilemma and finish that last page. It was when she was in that deep thought that her cellphone rang causing her to jump.
“It’s the idiot.” She thought when she saw Shiono’s name pop up on caller ID.
“Hello, Shiono.” She answered
“Good Afternoon Ms. Takatsuki, Just calling to see if your making good progress in finishing The Kings Bileygr by the deadline.”
Eto paused for a moment, then she grinned
“Well, I’m actually glad you called because I’m having really bad writers block on the last chapter, is their anyway we could move it back a few days.”
“What?” he questioned flustered. “You can’t just decide that last minute can’t you just try finishing it, this is going to set everything back.”
Eto just kept quiet and counted to ten, because the best way to manipulate him was to say nothing.
“I’m going to get in so much trouble for this, fine Ms. Takatsuki, I can probably get you five extra days”
“Thanks Shiono, you will always be my favorite Editor.” She told him as she hung up on him.
Eto set her keys down and walked towards her laptop, she was no longer in the mood for coffee. She was going to take her time with her finale moments. She was going to go finalize her plans with Tatara, she was going to tell him that they pushed back her deadline for finishing her book. She was going to be selfish, it was her right to be, she was about to ruin her life for her goal, and a part of her was bitter. She would have to sacrifice one of the few things she loves about her life in order to fix the world. The Kings Bileygr was not like any of her other books, it was a message for those smart enough to catch the clues. This was not like the others which was a personal piece of who she was written. She wrote this story for someone else, a book that was years in the making. Eto wanted a little more time in the present, then she would put the finale puzzle pieces together to make a better world. Inspired by this Eto grabbed her old penguin blanket and sat down at her computer. Eto started righting the last lines to her first epic, the one that wouldn’t have the tragic ending. When she finished the last page of her book, the live action adaptation would go into production. Fitting how she would give the rights only to him the One-Eyed King.
The Kings Bileygr would be the beginning of the revolution, and it could possibly be the end of Eto to, but for the little amount she had left she was glad to be doing this. She is just skittish over the prospect of dying after trying to survive for so long. Eto’s instincts were screaming for her to take a step back. However in doing this she would give the biggest middle finger to V and the CCG that worked the hardest to keep her silent. However, it was Eto’s turn to pass the torch of being a leader, she was getting to old, and she would gladly give it to her heir, because he is just like her, and he would do her proud. The King’s Bileygr would give birth to a new dynasty under a new king, and her dream will finally come true, as this is the last piece of hope she has left.
Those were the word Eto used to forge a connection with a man named Kaneki Ken. She even in that brief moment treated him exactly like his mother before her. She hurt him, told him that she loved him, and feed him like a good mother would do for any child. She even sealed the deal when she licked his eye that held his Kakugan. However, they were actually connected for a long time, they just didn’t know it.
Eto didn’t realize the impact she played on Kaneki’s life, how all of her books helped him during all of his times of great pain. The Black Goat’s egg came out shortly after his mother’s death, and helped him find solace and a distraction from the pain. Whenever Kaneki’s Aunt seemed to be extra terrible to him another one of her books would grace a bookstores shelf and right into his hands. Eto is even the reason why he was even able to go on his first date, well it wasn’t her fault that it went so terribly. Kaneki was able to put a personality behind Eto from her books, and was able to understand her easier than those who have known her for years. They built a bond through the writing and reading of all of her books.
They also are connected because they are both one of a kind they were both half ghouls and the very first of their kind in this new generation. They were connected in the way that they both hated the life they live. They really were like mother and child, just look at the way her son was taking after her, and she was so proud. He was playing the game just like she did smart and with careful playing, she just wished that he had the desire to live so she could watch him grow up. She just looked at this as his rebellious stage. He would come home to her because he was her child and they were now connected by familial bonds
Summary: Eto is a smart women, and is often the brains of Aogiri’s most brilliant plans. However, Eto’s most recent plan is the most high risk of them all, because it relies on one unstable young man.
“This is stupid Eto, don’t you understand that this whole plan is suicidal.” Tatara told Eto bluntly.
“Tatara, you say this, but have any of my plans failed yet?”
“Eto, it shouldn’t matter, this is even riskier then you letting our first hideout get raided, so we could break into Cochlea.”
Tatara was trying to get her to understand, as much as he had faith in her, the path she was going on, he couldn’t see anyone finishing it alive, even Eto.
“Eto you are extremely important to Aogiri Tree, if something were to happen to you, all of your hard work in building Aogiri Tree would be a waste, because we would fall apart.”
“Tatara, do you know who is even more important to Aogiri Tree than me.” She cut in.
“Eto I understand that you have a fascination with the One-Eyed King, but I don’t agree with you risking…”
“We need the One-Eyed King, we need him to be the symbol of change, to be physical proof that humans and ghouls can coexist.” she interrupted.
“I just don’t understand why you didn’t take the role for yourself, it would have made our jobs a lot easier.”
“I could of.” She admitted
“But, I don’t like being in the spotlight, I like pulling the strings from the background, and wouldn’t it be more poetic if it was someone who fit more closely to the original legend, a male half ghoul.” She told him.”
“Eto, don’t you think it’s a little too risky, you’re going into the heart of V and for what.”
“I made a mistake in choosing floppy to be the One-Eyed King, and I need to correct it.”
“How is getting captured and put into Cochlea going to help you in that Eto.”
Eto didn’t want to tell him because she knew how he would react, he would be angry, because in a way she had wasted his time. Eto had been so picky in what she wanted in her new One-Eyed King. He must be male, strong, and have his Kakugan in his right eye. Yet, here she was about to risk her life to convince the first one eyed ghoul they rejected to take out floppy and take the throne himself.
“My new One-Eyed King is an investigator named Haise Sasaki, however you might know him by his original name Kaneki Ken.“
“You mean Kanou’s favorite experiment, the one you said could never be the One-Eyed King.” He said very slowly like he couldn’t grasp what she just said.
“He has the most potential, he is malleable. I can control him with only a few words, and hitting the emotional weak point, which is his mother. Also he has done something that only I was able to do before, and that is surviving a fight with Arima.” She said to defend her choice.
“The One-Eyed king is just a figure head, I thought I could break floppy’s resolve, but he is to set in his ways. Kaneki on the other hand will change into anything you want as long as he gets your approval.” She added
“How are you even going to reach him if you purposely get captured, you won’t be able to talk to him in Cochlea?” he questioned.
“Because Tatara, I made sure that he will be the one to catch me.” She grinned
“How can you be so sure that it will be him?”
“Tatara, I have been planning this since he caught my interest, the only thing I was waiting for was the opportunity to see if I could bend him to my will.” She told him. “I got that opportunity when a Tsukiyama servant came to me for help in getting rid of him.”
“So, you lost our trump card, to see if your theory would play out.” He seethed
“It was all worth losing Noro for me to get the opportunity to test him, because I was able to make my perfect blank slate, because not only was I able to bring him back to his tragically beautiful self, but I was able to make a connection with him.” She responded.
“He wouldn’t be able to resist coming to find me because I revealed myself as his favorite author, and I filled the void of his mother, no matter how short the amount of time.”
“Is your plan actually working Eto?” Tatara asked in exasperation
“Don’t you find it weird that my deadline of my newest book just passed and I haven’t gotten a call from Shiono yet?”
“I will give you that, he never leaves you alone once you hand in your newest work.” She admitted
“That’s because Kaneki already collected him, and I only give him a days’ worth of integration before he gives me up.” She shrugged
“I don’t mind though I knew this would happen, but do you want to know the best part; Shiono is too nice of a person to not feel guilty after giving me up.”
“So, he will want to work harder to make sure that my last book is the biggest success, which will make The King Bileygr have the impact I need to build an army fit for a king.”
“Also, because I’m famous the CCG just can’t take me silently, because people will wonder where I went, they will most likely let me have a press conference where I would have to talk about going on hiatus for a while. But, I will use this opportunity to admit I’m a ghoul so that humans and ghouls a like will read the book.”
“However, I don’t care about that Tatara if they come to you to join Aogiri let them, but I’m more concerned about my king. If he is as smart as I know he is he will pick up on my little clue about the CCG’s involvement with V.”
“Which will lead him right to you, the women with all the information.” Tatara finished for her.
“Exactly! This is why I like you Tatara, sometimes you can finish my thoughts for me.” She laughed
“But in all seriousness Tatara, I have this all planned out.”
“Eto it’s not that I don’t believe in how smart you are.” He told her
“You don’t have to explain, we have been partners for a long time, it doesn’t bother me that you care.” She admitted.
“But, you have to remember I have broken in and out of Cochlea before, so if I really need to get out I will be able to; I’m not exactly weak.”
“I know.”
“I have to do this I’m so close, I am willingly sacrificing my reputation as an author, but I’m not necessarily willing to that with my life.” She told him honestly
“But, now I have to address the rest of Aogiri, so that when he comes they will welcome him as a King.” She told him.
“We will meet again Tatara, this isn’t the end of our partnership just yet.”
“Unil we meet again Eto”
Eto began to walk away until she realized that she still had one more thing to say to Tatara, so stopped and called back.
“By the way Tatara don’t let Houji get away this time, kill him so you can finally be at peace.”
Tatara smiled a little at that, but he slowly became solemn as he watch Eto continue her trek away from him towards the meeting room. It was in that moment that Tatara realized that this might be the last time they see each other, because both of them would be facing their demons.
