status: open to all setting: carnival day one, game alley

SHE HAS ABOUT TEN MINUTES , GIVE OR TAKE before she knows mimi is expecting her back. using the classic ‘brb, bathroom break’, she turns the corner toward the most exciting part of the carnival ― the prizes. as she reaches the game alley, she spots a familiar figure which causes a smile to curve on her lips. tapping the other’s shoulder, she stands with her hands behind her back, swinging from side to side as she bats her eyelashes. sweet dulcet intertwined with a hint of deviousness, “for the sake of time, let me just get to the point ― what will it take for you to win me, that?” she says as she points to one of the stuffed animals on the prize wall.

           “WHOEVER CAME UP with a house of mirrors was a fucking genius.” he hummed out, stepping closer to the mirror to examine his features, fingers combing through his dark locks. “although i can see far too many greasy forehead smudges...is it really that difficult to navigate out?” dax asked in his usual slow, deep toned voice that came when he was rather high out of his mind. so far, the night had gone a little rocky, so hiding out in the house of mirrors seemed like his best bet.

             “WAIT, WAIT, WAIT, DON’T MOVE!” shiloh yelled as she skipped over to the passerby with a big smile, reaching into her bag to pull out the little page of butterfly stickers, “i am on a mission to spread these around.” she explained as if it made any sense, which it certainly didn’t, but nevertheless she leaned forward and stuck the little butterfly to the other. “it looks so cute on you!” shiloh couldn’t help but chirp, bouncing on the toes of her feet, a total contrast to her usual reserved demeanor, the mushrooms she had consumed earlier on in the night running their full speed course through her delicate frame.

             STANDING BESIDE HIS NOW pile of stuffed prizes, teddy won yet another game on the row of tents, smiling proudly as he looked at the wall of plushies. “um....” he hummed out, eyes squinting as he tried to pick something good, not even noticing the slight annoyance of the worker before he stopped someone in passing, “what would you pick??” teddy asked as he motioned to the rows of prizes with curiosity gleaming in his childlike eyes.

[ closed starter - @eushiloh​ ] Some band lacking years of practice plays in the background... but he hears none of it as his gaze is lost somewhere in between the actual ride before him and some distant memory in a much colder weather– though the memory itself was warm. Coming out of the daze somebody pats him in the back and he nods, waving them off with a quick “I’ll catch up”. That’s when he sees Shiloh, some distance away... is it just him or have their encounters become more frequent?

          delicious scents mingle alluringly in the air and hunger gnaws persistently at his stomach, any growls lost in the general cacophony of the crowd though that doesn’t dampen the sensation in the slightest. jason is already running dangerously LOW on arm space, an impressive collection of ( certainly non-diet approved ) carnival fare lovingly cradled and carefully balanced before him, but famished state aside there's still one thing missing—     " — we need funnel cake. "     he barely glances at sebastian at that, decision already made as he makes for one of the funnel cake trucks ; confident that as always, they exist on the same wavelength.

    THE MOMENT COMMITS ITSELF to her memory. with or without mia’s consent, the image of anaïs crazily focused on winning at a carnival game’s now seared in her mind. “ it feel pointless for me to tell you for the nth time that these are rigged, so let me just — ” mia makes a show of passing another bank note to the operator, the sound of the rides and screams still not loud enough to drown out her laughs. “ — enjoy whatever this is. ” mia gestures at the scene as she inches closer to be heard, leaning in a little to whisper as though she wouldn’t dare break their focus. “ if you do win  a prize though, you should know i think the blue orangutan is cute. ”
