Eugene week day 5 Prompt- “we are family” favorite bond that Eugene shares with someone else

My favorite bond that Eugene has is with Tara because their friendship is just adorable. This is going to be very scatter-brained so bear with me.

The way she’s smiling at him in this scene is so just like pure and adorable

And this smile he gives to her after she wakes up makes me want to fly into the sun because I can’t handle the emotions I feel when I see it

I love this moment when he saves her because he’s obviously terrified, but he’s facing his fears to protect her and get her out of there

I love him being jealous over Tara bonding with Denise and earning this look for saying that Denise could kill Tara with the symptom of a headache if she missed like a hematoma or something

This scene always makes me cry just because the lack of words and the looks on their faces are so powerful. Another scene that makes me cry is when Eugene confesses to making the bullet after Tara says “It was me” and you just hear a very shaky “No, it wasn’t” from offscreen. I also love the scene in Self Help where Tara catches him watching Rosita and Abraham and Eugene tells her what he did to the bus and they have a heart to heart and an adorable fist bump. Tara defending Eugene after he lied is still one of my favorite moments. Anyways, I just love these two together and how they went from an awkward failed attempt at courtship to being best friends.

Eugene Week Day 4: Old i-Pod

I wrote this song about Eugene last summer, and my brother and I recorded it together. When I met Josh McDermitt in Atlanta that fall, I gave him a copy of it––I’ll never forget the look on his face (nor the big hug I got for it).

It’s about Eugene’s journey throughout Season 7.

I am the composer, violinist, and sound mixer for the recording; my brother performed vocals, cello, and acoustic and electric guitar. Our father performed the piano track.
