【☾𖤓】 ⸻ 𝐀 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐎𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐑𝐀𝐒𝐄 𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐙𝐄𝐃 𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐅𝐑𝐔𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐋𝐘 𝐖𝐄𝐋𝐋. like a child learning basic rules to keep themselves safe, the network executive had to consciously double check and verify if the strange things he saw on a daily basis were living or dead. the eccentricities of man didn't make it easy to determine some days. all hyojin himself had hoped for was a leisurely afternoon away from work or any of his ‘other’ responsibilities —even perhaps getting a manicure that would last longer than three days after salt inevitably dried out his nails. a small request .. but in his life the mundane was the least likely to occur, he'd come to accept.
the day had seemed like it would be a positive one — he'd avoided any work calls and even managed ( ENTIRELY ON ACCIDENT ) to run into the leader of a band that essentially had taken over his work playlist as of recent. there was no secret that hyojin made himself AWARE OF THOSE NOTABLE WITHIN THE INDUSTRY with a particular focus in music, but it was rarer that work and genuine interest overlapped. professionally, he was thrilled for the opportunity to perhaps begin building enough of a rapport to invite SAMSARA onto one of their shows. personally, it was a bit of a thrilling encounter and a rare opportunity to be just a bit of a fanboy.
the joy was short-lived when in the midst of trying not to make a fool of himself ( AN IMPOSSIBLE LEVEL CHALLENGE THERE HE WAS CONCERNED ), the emergence of an oddly dressed man who seemed to climb out of an entirely different decade moved into his line of sight. the lack of reaction from anyone else clued him in enough to the reality of the matter. while he should have been responsible, he was entirely against trying to deal with a damned ghost on his one day off. realizing he had taken far too long to actually respond to doyeon, hyojin laughed in an attempt to fill the air and rubbed the back of his neck.
❝huh? sorry, i thought i saw someone i knew.❞ his tone wasn't exactly convincing, but he opted against lingering on the point for much longer anyhow. ❝listen, the least i can do for stopping you out of nowhere is offer to pay for a coffee or something. i definitely rambled way more than i meant to.❞ while hyojin hated the risk of coming off 'weird' for the sudden invitation, ideally he would rather they / GOT OUT OF THERE / sooner rather than later.
