There are some head-canons if you would somehow have a romantic relationship with Malcolm Festes
Firstly, Malcolm would probably be obsessive about you, as he was with Olivia (remind you, he followed her all the time, had pictures of her in his room, and my God, Malcolm even had a pillow with Olivia's face on it!).
He's weird, so he would try to make conversation with you by telling you things that aren't relevant, like facts that no one cares about;
Even though he's the dorm director (or school prefector? idk), and he's a stickler for rules, he'll do things for you: for example, Malcolm would always "cover your back" if you come back to the dorm after curfew. Or he wouldn't report about you to teachers if you skip class or cheat on an exam.
• Probably Malcolm would constantly carry your things and give you unnecessary advice on how best to care for your delicate skin, hair, what shower gel you should use to avoid irritation of the epidermis (how Malcolm found out that you use shower gel and not soap, we won't discuss);
As you can see, Malcolm has a rather athletic physique, so it is possible that you would attend trainings together with him, and, of course, there he would also make sure that you dont hurt yourself while doing physical exercises; And, of course, he would also be there to make sure you didn't hurt yourself while exercising; Malcolm would also be in your way, telling you all about lifting techniques and the benefits/harms of lifting weights while you mentally prayed that he would just get the hell away from you.
Due to Malcolm loves his pet Malvolio tarantula, you'll again have to listen to all sorts of "funny stories" related to this spider, and 101 facts about tarantulas and Malvolio's GI traits;
Malcolm is kind of romantic, so he'll write to you weird poems, not realizing that his romantic-oeuvre is a cringe that embarrasses you; sometimes he'll hum his favorite lines from his poems about you in a high/thin voice, making you feel embarrassed in front of your classmates for having to hear it too;
well, about classmates, it's not uncommon for Malcolm to annoy them with the fact that he can frazzle them over little things that "sort of" relate to the school's bylaws. So you'll either feel a little embarrassed or amused that you have a weird meticulous boyfriend who annoys your classmates/his roommates (it would already depend on your attitude towards the people around you. 😅);
Also Malcolm is not without a sense of ego and vanity. Perhaps in public with you, Malcolm would have been self-possessed, too, because you, like the "object" of his adoration, were his trophy, and a sign that you had succumbed to his fascination;
Despite his ego, Malcolm is still more of a sensitive guy than a cold stoic: (you know, the moment when the school principal reprimanded Malcolm in front of the packed stands at a soccer game for allegedly lying to the principal about Sebastian (Viola). Unable to find an explanation, Malcolm started crying like a kid. So, in your tender/intimate moments of your relationship, it's not impossible that he would probably give into feelings or even a few tears of emotion because of your affectionate words and romantic gestures like complimenting his punctuation, grooming his tarantula, caressing him in public; It would also make Malcolm feel good to know that even though he annoys a lot of students (even though he pretends it doesn't bother him, but it does), he would still be a guy who is loved and treated with affection, even though he's annoying. That fact would make him cry in a public places, which would make you a little uncomfortable/embarassed again.
Btw, there was also a funny/cute moment when Malcolm had that confused/irritated. Like, just look on his face when he saw how warmly Olivia and Sebastian were interacting with each other (cause Olivia obviously wasn't interacting as affectionately with Malcolm as she was with cross-dressing Viola). Malcolm even clumsily tried to get Sebastian and Olivia's attention by demanding that Olivia not hold a paper to a burner, thus trying to distract Viola and Sebastian from having a "heart-to-heart" conversation in class. Well, it's possible means that if you were dating him, he had an inner restlessness and insecurity when you were socializing with someone he thought might get your attention.
Also Malcolm is kind of mean. And if you would only have a budding relationship with some other guy/girl, then Malcolm, could not accept it, and let the situation go: no, he was building whole schemes and manipulations, digging out information piece by piece about the person with whom you have, as it seems to him, mutual sympathy. And after all his "investigations" Malcolm would try to sabotage your relationship with someone else, telling you about the whole background of the person, about all his/her shortcomings, about his/her controversial views, accidentally said rude words, unwise decisions. In this way, Malcolm would try to make you dislike/indifferent to person with whom you used to have a warm, semi-romantic relationship.
