Date Night- closed with eurekastrikes
Newt hadn't been on a date in years- the concept just didn't appeal to him. If he didn't have /the one/, his soulmate, he didn't want anyone; he'd just focused on science. It was strange to know that all these years he waited and now they were here, out of the blue, pretty much out of nothing. To be frank, he hadn't been so nervous in his life. He desperately wanted Striker to like him and in the brief encounter they'd had the night before, he'd realized how childlike he was. He didn't have any of the experiences a normal person would, there would be a lot he'd have to show him. And not scare him away in the process. Newt took one last look in the tiny mirror. He'd dressed in his usual style, trading his white button up for a grey one, skinny tie knotted around his neck and trading out his plain black Doc Martens for a pair of silver metallic ones he reserved for special occasions. He made sure he had everything- jacket, wallet, phone- checked his hair in the mirror, and left in search of Striker. They hadn't set up a meeting location, so he figured it would be best to check with Marshall Hansen.

It seemed humanised Jaegers were becoming the norm around the Shatterdome. They appeared from nowhere, some were AI's housed in human form to help pilots 'accustom' to their Jaeger by being able to talk and interact with them, and some were just...
Some were just mysterious... Sasha felt better about these. The AI's made her stomach crawl with that feeling of uncanny valley as they went about their business in an off-kilter human way.
She catches the sight of a television screen in the Jaeger hangar, instead of housing never ending lines of coding and scrolls of endless information it instead housed the 'Transformers' cartoon. Boy she remembered that.
"Do you mind?" She asks - strangely for her - rather politely, taking a seat on an empty crate.

After a week spent solely between the lab and his quarters, Hermann desperately needed a break. He wandered slowly through the halls and corridors, going easy on his leg, until he found himself standing in the hangar. It was full of busy personnel (why wouldn't it be?) but Hermann's stomach twisted at how empty it seemed now.
He made his way to the other side of the floor where it was quieter, dropping into a chair and watching over the crowds of people. After a few minutes, he became aware of someone approaching him from his left. Tiredly, he looked up, a well-rehearsed scowl on his face.
"Can I help you?"
