FEB-HUE-ARY - Part One

featuring 💞Epi & Eury💞

[ woohoo its Feb-Hue-Ary again and i’m going to try to actually post these on the date appropriate days as we go since we’re all pretending tumblr’s an active website again ffgkgkg. here’s last year’s compilation post from yours truly and the FebHue full month prompt list! ]

once again all Elysium couples for Valentine’s month and we’re starting off SO strong with some neon Euriales!!

quick note about this month’s FebHue for me! our elysium characters are all rainbow with v specific color schemes so for color palette prompts i always like to kinda match up characters based on the colors they’re supposed to be colored in as. that’s what i did last year in picking which pairings to draw on which day! HOWEVER this year I thought it would be fun to take almost those exact same couples from ‘22, and shuffle them back into those exact same prompts - so instead of matches based on first impressions, i have these matches completely blindly shuffled and selected based on random chance! it is... difficult but really fun i am making it work!

for example i fuckin never would have looked at these colors and thought eury&epi but it WORKS SOMEHOW SOOOO WELL Im actually obsessed w how this came out lmfaooo -

~talking about what the hell circumstances had surrounded Maci & Tory’s first meeting with Eury & Epi ~ the only thing i know for a fact is, up there seriously they did immediately all sleep together so uh. how’d we get there LOL

saving these {and some other recent ish elysium thotssss i think im gonna make another post like this} for posterity in case twitter does collapse & if it does this specific post is crucially important. honestly i have a very specific tiny comic im fucking dying to draw but its not high on my priority list of many other things to draw first ;(( but IN CASE I GET TO IT EVENTUALLY i personally need this record fjfjg and so, okay, longer notes as follows,

other than obviously the fact that Maci is the Princess of the kingdom in which they live I do think that Eury prob at least vaguely knew her beforehand, bc Eury was/is friendly with Hypnos like, at least had been in the same room as her before...... and was not a fan

Epi initially needling Eury into going to the Royal Wedding because first of all when else is there going to be a royal wedding!!! second of all considering the EVERYTHING ABOUT THE PRINCESS it could be a hot mess and you have to go in case there’s drama!!!! but Epi at the time was blocked from getting through the Elysium barrier so Eury reluctantly did end up going just on his own to humor him......

......and came back like... 👀 👀 👀 👀 👀 SO UH..... 👀 👀 👀

in short unless told otherwise, in my brain firmly Eury and Epi meeting and entirely becoming friends-eventually-family with Maci and Tory stemmed all literally just from Eury really wanting to fuck Tory after seeing him at his own wedding, getting Epi on board, and then successfully orchestrating ~*just happening*~ to formally meet

it is utterly crucial to me that Eury was the mastermind behind the whole thing

first of all we all (me) miss Euriales terribly doooontttttt weeeeee

I had a crazy slow single work day last week and cranked out a ton of cute~ lineart that I’m getting around to coloring now! here’s a euriales ;-; colored & my original lines, plussss a cropped detail closeup bc I’m not crazy about this initial composition lmao but I could NOT cut off Epi’s ponytail

this still counts as a Valentine’s day picture, says I

I do need to point out that I got entirely distracted coloring this by adding in a ton of individual loose hairs, really I think my favorite part of any drawing ever, but i’m pointing it out here so all that wasted time doesn’t go unnoticed thanks!

a group fam photo of the Euriales kiddies, by which I mean the kiddies whom consider Euriales to be their parents regardless of who actually belongs to who biologically speaking -- GOSH are there so many half siblings in elysium!!!! doesnt matter tho!!!

my coworker introduced me to the song lullaby by the cure (which, we’re all funeral directors and she’s contractually obligated to obtain peak goth stats by only ever embalming by listening to the cure and the smiths) - she played this song and then said something to the effects of “i love how ridiculous the title is, this song’s so fucking creepy who the hell would ever use it as a lullaby for their kids oh my god lmao”

...so here’s a Euriales, because they would!
