This is showing my favourite Boston marriage forming my favourite family: Thetis, Eurynome and Hephaestus. Coincidentally, Nereus (father of Thetis and the Nereids) was visiting the cave that day and took part of the tender moment🥹🥹 (the story told by Hephaestus in the Iliad when Thetis is there to ask for the armour of Achilles).
Nereus is described as άλίοιο γέροντος (old man of the sea), which is why he is depicted as an elderly gentleman with white hair and beard. The brunette is Eurynome and the blonde is Thetis (referring to Achilles' blond hair).
I have to give this illustration some more colour, so I made the cloak blue like the sea. I first thought that the head garment Thetis is wearing was a crown, but then I realised it was a fancy ribbonso I also painted fancily. I love pearls, so y painted the balls as pearlsaa. Eurynome's head garment is made of ivory from cetacean teeth.
I tried to give the background texture to make it look like the rocks in a cave 🤗 I have to give this illustration some more colour, so I made the cloak blue like the sea.
Btw Nereus has blushed because he is looking at us, he is a bit shy, this or he has been out in the sun too long🤣🤣.

With them then for nine years' space I forged much cunning handiwork, brooches, and spiral arm-bands, and rosettes and necklaces, within their hollow cave; and round about me flowed, murmuring with foam, the stream of Oceanus, a flood unspeakable. Neither did any other know thereof, either of gods or of mortal men, but Thetis knew and Eurynome, even they that saved me. And now is Thetis come to my house; wherefore it verily behoveth me to pay unto fair-tressed Thetis the full price for the saving of my life. But do thou set before her fair entertainment, while I put aside my bellows and all my tools.
