I got diagnosed with hypothyroidism, am on Euthyrox now. So excited for it to start kicking in!

I am actually so happy I got a diagnosis. This explains so many of my everyday struggles (and also my 10lbs weight gain over the last 2 yrs 🤷🏻‍♀️)

I skipped Euthyrox today. Took only Armour (I take both) because I’ve been having mad anxiety and palpitations. I thought it was from the Effexor since I’m still experiencing side effects from that medication but it might be from Euthyrox. They switched my thyroid medication recently to Euthyrox.

Tomorrow, I'll cut the Euthyrox in half again and see what happens. If it still gives me side effects after that, I’ll have to call around to different pharmacies and change medications. I just need to make sure Euthyrox is causing this and not the side effects from Effexor. Some more unpleasant times it seems.

2022 első teleholdja. Ma kezdtem el a Hashimoto-betegség kezelését. Az autoimmun pajzsmirigy-gyulladásra jelenleg nincsen gyökeres megoldás, ahogy más autoimmun betegségekre sincs. A tüneti kezelés abból áll, hogy szintetikus hormonokkal pótolják azt, amit a szétroncsolt pajzsmirigy már nem képes termelni. Ennek az a célja, hogy stabilizálja a hormonszintet, mivel a pajzsmirigyhormonok számos más hormont, és így lényegében az egész test működését befolyásolják. A hormonszintet rendszeresen ellenőrizni kell, hogy ha szükséges, akkor módosítsanak a szintetikus hormonok dózisán. Jelenleg egy 25 mikrogrammos tabletta felét kell szednem éhgyomorra, fél órával a reggeli előtt. 

Eddig az ágyam melletti kis asztalkán két cserepes növény, egy éjjelilámpa, az éppen olvasott könyvek és egy jegyzetfüzet volt, meg egy páfránymintás virágcserép, amiben krémeket és írószert tartok. Most közéjük költözött az Euthyrox nevű tabletta egy kis papírtasakban. Minden reggel ketté kell törni egy ilyen tablettát, és minél hamarabb lenyelni, mert reggel nagyon éhes vagyok. Eddig a reggeli és a 45 perc jóga motivált a korai felkeléshez, most a legelső lépés az Euthyrox.

A kis fehér félhold a füzetem borítójára rajzolt másik fél mellett mintha ki akarna telni. A füzetet a szőnyegre tettem, amit én hímeztem, hátha a nyírfák fehér kérge is színes folytatást talál rajta.

Après trois années de remise à disposition de l’ancienne formule du Levothyrox, l’arrêt de commercialisation de l’Euthyrox est prévue pour septembre.

D’abord Francaises, puis italiennes, les dernières boites d’Euthyrox sont importées du marché russe, ce qui explique le nom du médicament sur les boîtes. (Voir la photo 🙂 )

I’m pretty confident about the 13k except for my thyroid medication that isn’t stable yet. I’ve started taking additional hormones since a week (Basically replaced my thyroid with 2 pills in the morning). But it’s hard to get the right dose as it is - of course - different for everyone. So far I’m very emotional and unstable but otherwise physically great.

Keeping my fingers crossed for things to continue this smoothly.

Part 8: High TSH

I mistook the appointment date as November 14. My appointment was yesterday thanks to my mail to Dr.Vicky where I had mentioned about my appointment with my endocrinologist. Otherwise I would have missed out on my appointment with the specialist. 

On November 7, I was asked by my endocrinologist to give some blood sample to test my TSH level. The TSH count was down at 4miu/l from 11 miu/l two weeks back. But the count is still at higher end of the normal range. Both Dr.Vicky and the endocrinologist made it quite clear to me that my fertility treatment will kick start only after the TSH count comes down below 2.5miu/l. I gotta a long way to go now...

After a discussion with the endocrinologist, I realised that the sudden change in my TSH level is due to the fluctuations in the time at which I used to take Euthyrox every day. The endocrinologist said that a slight change in the timing has deep impact on the function of thyroid hormones. He increased my dosage from seven pills a week to nine pills a week and asked to me go for one more round of tests after December 16. Dr.Vicky also made it clear that she cannot start my fertility test until after December 16 after checking my TSH level post-new dosage. 

My menstruation is delayed by 53 days as of today and Dr.Vicky asked me to take a pregnancy test although I know for 100% that I'm not pregnant. I asked Dr.Vicky if it is possible for her to regulate my menstrual cycle for which she replied that there is nothing she can do at this point as everything depends on my post December 16 TSH count. And this means I have to spend another 35 days of my life in uncertainty, a bit of frustration, miserable and stress!!! 

I wish I can control my desperation and lead a calm life. I know this stress will not solve my problem and on the contrary it'll affect my internal health. But then I'm paranoid person!
