Yuki's time on Earth is measured in hundreds of days. Pierre's time ran out in that very second when he and Alex were incinerated by a searingly pure beam of true death.

Pierre should not have been able to synchronize so well with the mind of the artificial human, Yuki. Yuki's existence is defined by the efficiency of synchronization with the Eva.

The further it goes, the more often Yuki sees the crooked smile of Pierre, who resembled a mischievous little goat, instead of dry numbers on the cockpit monitor.

The further it goes, the more the very essence of Eva-01 adapts itself to Yuki.
