“Às vezes o amor não basta. E, quando é assim, pra que é que ele serve?” - Profundamente Sua, Sylvia Day
Gideon fucking Cross 😳🔥😈
The Crossfire series by Sylvia Day
Synopsis (from Goodreads): Gideon Cross came into my life like lightning in the darkness. He was beautiful and brilliant, jagged and white-hot. I was drawn to him as I'd never been to anything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me. I was flawed and damaged, and he opened those cracks in me so easily.
Gideon knew. He had demons of his own. And we would become the mirrors that reflected each other's most private wounds and desires. The bonds of his love transformed me, even as I prayed that the torment of our pasts didn't tear us apart
Favourite book of the series: Captivated by you (finally we get Gideon's POV as well as Eva's)
Trigger warnings: childhood trauma, child abuse, murder, violence
My review: Although this series goes quite far into drama and passionate/desperate love, I found it quite addictive and got absolutely mesmerised by Gideon and his devotion to Eva (and her devotion to him). Their traumas are difficult to digest but make for a great angsty story, where sex plays a very dominant part of their healing and progression. Warning though: It might not be for everyone, as the scenes are very detailed and sometimes very heavily charged.
I found the character's actions sometimes ridiculous and a little annoying (especially Eva) but I won't lie and I admit that I got completely hooked in this story.
My rating: 4.2/5
I am late to this fandom, but Holy Fuck. This man is so fucked up and twisted but I just love him to pieces!
The Crossfire Series by Sylvia Day is probably one of the best things that I have spent money on in a long while lol.
Thirsty Thursday!
Thirsty Thursday! I didn't have to think hard about this one as Eva's favorite drink in the Crossfire Series is Vodka and Cranberry, also known as a "Cape Codder". This is a very simple cocktail to make and it's refreshing with the cranberries and lime.
1 1/2 oz of your favorite Vodka--Gideon style
5 oz Cranberry Juice--not cranberry cocktail
1 wheel of lime
ice cubes.Put ice in a highball glass pour in the ingredients finish with a slice of lime.Sweet like Eva and powerful like Gideon.
Take me. Take all of me. The good and the bad. Everything. Take it all.
