Alright since I just saw a post about them, I finally remembered to make this post.

I don't really know how to word stuff, so please just bare with me.

Do not support the band McCafferty. Don't do it.

Back in February, I ended up seeing a post one of the members of Mccafferty put up on Instagram (Evan Graham @/xgolden_grahamx) about the situation with Nick Hartkop and the abuse happening both in the band and outside of it.

After I saw the post, I dm-ed Evan and asked him what to do as a fan and he said to not stream from the artist page and stuff, but also stream Sister Sandy so he could actually make some money. (the issue was Nick holding money from them)

"Dad? Is it true? Kathryn's pregnant?"

"Well... yes."

"Congratulations and everything, but we need to talk."

"Sure. By the way, how did you find out?"

"Sharon. She's so excited about the new baby... but I'm here on her behalf. Just because she's excited about the baby doesn't mean it would be okay for you to make her take care of the baby."

"Why... why do you think I'd do that?"

"Because I was her age now when she was born, and I had to do everything? Diapers, night feedings, everything. She even called me mom when she was super little!"

"I... I didn't know that she did that."

"Of course you didn't. I worked hard to make sure you didn't find out!"

"Oh Chelsea..."

"I'm not done yet. Sharon is young and bright and she's already talking about becoming a lawyer, and it wouldn't be fair to her to take her childhood and future away and make her take care of the baby. Like you did with me."

"I'm so sorry, Chelsea. So sorry. I was an idiot back then... no, that's a bad excuse. I was a bad father to you, a lot of the time, especially after your mom died, and there's nothing I can do to make that up to you. But I promise, your sister won't be living like that. I'll be staying home with the baby this time."

"Mark? I... I have to tell you something. I'm pregnant."

"That is... that is so wonderful, I've been praying, and I know how much you want to be a mother! Kathryn! I can't believe it!"

"So you're really happy? I was worried, because what happened with your first wife..."

"Of course this brings up bittersweet memories, but you're not her, and you'll be fine. We'll be fine. I just know it. The Watcher will make sure of it."

"Oh, Mark! I'm looking forward to this baby so much!"

"Baby? Dad, did you just say baby?"

"Well... I guess we can't keep secrets in this house! Yes! Kathryn is pregnant!"

"Oh my gosh! Finally! I've been praying for so long for a little sibling, ever since I was six or so, and now it finally happened!"

"Yes! What do you say? Are you excited?"

"So much! I can't wait until they're big enough for the treehouse!"

"So... with baby almost ready to come, have you thought about names yet?"

"No, have you?"

"Well... I thought if baby is a boy, we could name him after my dad?"

"Reynold? That's quite a mouthful for such a little guy."

"Poor baby! No, I was thinking about Evan? It's a cute little nod and we don't have to make him a Reynold. He'd get bullied in school!"

"Evan it is, then, for a boy. What about a girl?"

"We'll think about that when baby is here, right? I have a feeling it's a boy!"

Now that Kathryn's back in the office, I'm taking care of baby Evan alone, and it's so sweet to make all those precious memories with him, and be there for all of his firsts - first time rolling over, his first smile, his first laugh, all those little milestones I never properly appreciated with my older kids because I just wasn't there for them.

Spending so much time with him - my little buddy - makes me appreciate the memories I make in a whole new fashion, but wow, such a tiny human is a lot of work! After my late wife took care of the older babies, I never realized how much of a burden I put on Chelsea when I asked her to take care of Sharon, and she is right - I should never have done that, both for her sake, and for Sharon's. But the only thing I can do is do better with Evan.

We're spending all of our time together, while also making time for Kathryn and Sharon - I don't want her to feel left out or neglected just because she has a younger sibling now, and it's stressful, but it's also so lovely. My family is the most important thing for me, and I can only now properly appreciate what I have in them that I'm retired and can stay home with them, and for them.
