Sybil was sufficiently distracted from her own grief for the moment. She didn’t realize Henry was so close behind her, and she was taken entirely by surprised when he lifted her from behind and set her on his own horse.
“Oh, Henry, please don’t do that anymore!”
“What?” he asked, adjusting his horse’s girth. He did not look at his wife. “Touch you?”
“Sneak up on me like that,” Sybil said. “If you continue to do so, I promise I shall die of fright and you’ll have a dead horse and a dead wife.”
He grunted.
“Do you promise?”
“Promise what?”
“That you’ll quit surprising me like that. Will you promise?”
“No.” He climbed on behind her and she contorted her face as if she’d just eaten something sour. Henry smothered his smile.

4) Who likes to walk around the house naked and who tells the other to go put some clothes on?
Ev’s definitely guilty of shucking pants (if she had to wear them) as soon as she gets home but I don’t think she’d go fully naked. When they’re still with Overwatch, I think Jesse would totally wander around her place naked and Ev would blush the first few times, stammering that the neighbours might see him and tell him to put something on. Around recall, I don’t think either of them really would. They’re more for lounging in bed naked rather than wandering around.
9) Who wakes the other up in the middle of the night to tell them a cool dream they had? Who has the most nightmares, and who sings them back to sleep after?
Evan would definitely wake Jesse up to talk about dreams but they’re usually either engineering things or she’s somehow collected every breed of cat ever. Jesse has the most nightmares overall, Ev has a few after her lab explodes around her which he’d totally sing her to sleep after. She’s all for cuddling him and talking about it if he wants to. But she can’t sing so that’s not happening.
16) Who is more seductive when they are drunk? and who is louder in bed?
Jesse is definitely more seductive overall, like at any time. Ev can’t hold her liquor so she doesn’t drink often and when she does she’s usually out like a light. As for louder in bed…Jesse’s a talker, not just in a filthy sense but just in general,
18) Who talks to the other while they are sleeping?
Jesse. If she’s idle for more than five minutes and horizontal, Evan will pass out so she’s asleep around him a lot. He spends a lot of time teasing and joking when she’s awake but when she’s asleep he spills his heart to her. Not that he couldn’t tell her if she was awake but he likes just running his fingers through her short hair, brushing his fingers over her round cheeks, and just talking to her. Doesn’t always have to be important, could be mindless things really, but he just talks to her and shushes her back to sleep if he does manage to wake her up.
25) Who says shitty puns and sex jokes just to see the other giggle and blush?
Evan tries! She tries so hard but she usually winds up making herself blush and him laugh. So it’s kind of a win but just between two people. He thinks it’s adorable when she does it and just kind of waits for the other shoe to drop after she says something because he knows those cheeks are going to go red at any second. After they do, he’ll tug her in good and close and tell her horrible ones to show her how it’s really done.

Eerie doesn’t go completely naked but if she knows its just the pair of them, her go to is either a tank top and panties or just his shirt. Maybe once or twice she’ll shed everything just to get a reaction out of him. And please, the big guy isn’t telling her to put anything back on.

I don’t think either of them would wake the other up for a cool dream. They both work highly demanding and stressful jobs so they try to get as much sleep as they can. Nightmares they might not intentionally wake the other up but will if they get out of bed. They both have their fair share of them and it’s mostly about each other once they leave Insomnia. Gladio might win this one though, especially after the daemon attack on Eerie. She probably wouldn’t outright sing, humming more likely, but she wouldn’t go back to sleep until he does.
16) Who is more seductive when they are drunk? and who is louder in bed?
Ha. I’d like to say Eerie, but she’s not seductive. She gets blunt and just asks for sex. Gladio, however, will turn that shit up to eleven and he’s terrible. There’s no holding him back when he’s a little tipsy and Eyra better be ready for a handsy evening because his are going to be everywhere. As for louder in bed, I’d say they’re pretty evenly matched. Although, it might take them a while to figure that out given they both live with family when they’re younger or have sex in place they shouldn’t be.
18) Who talks to the other while they are sleeping?
They both do this. Neither of them is always that great about putting their feelings into words, although Gladio is slightly better than Eerie about this, and sometimes it’s easier to do it when the other person is asleep. There’s a lot of afternoons where he’ll pass out in her lap and she will quietly tell him how much he means to her and how happy she is he’s in her life. She gets a lot better as the years go by but it’s still easier for her to do it while he’s asleep. The big guy usually uses it as a chance to express any fears or worries he has, working through them as best he can, just verbalising them before he tries to explain it to her. There’s also the telling her how much he loves her but it doesn’t matter if she’s asleep or awake, he tells her that all the time.

Gladio lives to make Eerie giggle and more than that blush. The girl’s usually so forward and blunt it doesn’t happen often but when he catches her off guard it’s the best thing and he can’t wait to do it again. But he’s never satisfied with just the giggle; he keeps going until he makes her snort because then he knows he’s done good and it’s so worth her smacking his arm and he’s never going to stop.

1. In the modern world, what would they INSIST that their ringtone should be? What ringtone would they give those closest to them?
Asha: She wouldn’t be too picky about it since it’s not her phone. She’d just ask that it not be something super obnoxious which Alistair would completely ignore. Her brothers, Alistair, and Guen would all have different ringtones so she knows who’s texting or calling but they’d be ones that came with the phone.
Elora: She’d probably go with pieces of songs she likes. WHich means she’d have to set it up herself on some people’s phones. On hers, Ionas would have a piece of music that was actually him playing; Dorina’s would be something along the lines of ‘pick up the damn phone’; and because she’s terrible Cullen’s is his laugh from the one and only Wicked Grace game that Bull was kind enough to get and send to her.
Evan: Ev’s a huge movie nerd so she’d want her ringtone to be one liners from old movies and she’d change her mind all the time about which one she’d want it to be. Like Elora, she’d be the one to set it on certain phones given the cowboy is low tech and his phone’s on silent most of the time anyways. Eri’s is the ‘he is tuxedo mask’ line; Genji’s is something from the Princess Bride; Jesse is either a cheesy cowboy one liner or ‘yipee ki-yay, mother fucker’ (which gets her into trouble in public situations if he ever texts her); Juno would rotate through space movie line, but she usually comes back to lines from Ripley in Aliens.
Eyra: She isn’t super picky since a lot of her friends are more on the low tech side of things. She’d just want a unique one so they’d know it was her and, since she’s not patient, to respond fast. Sometimes she’ll use cheeky, obnoxious ones as a joke but they stick, think Too Sexy for her big guy, but mostly she’ll use lyrics from songs that she thinks fit her friends and family best.
2. What would they consider to be their safe space?
Asha: After everything calms down, Alistair has parts of the castle garden redone for her. It blends elements of her home in Highever, the new home in Denerim, and all the places in between they went to. In the back corner of it, tucked against the castle, is a small space that’s almost completely hidden away. Compared to the rest of the garden, it’s simple, with a small fish pond, simple garden beds she tends herself, and a single bench. It’s quiet enough for her to pretend that there’s nothing outside of the hedges closing it in and it gives her a chance to simply breathe when her new life becomes too much for her.
Elora: In Skyhold, it’s the little library under the main hall. It’s quiet enough for her to work in peace or just sit, but she can still hear the bustle of the Inquisition around her so she knows she’s not alone and definitely not in a Tower. After the Inquisition is disbanded, there’s a small clearing near the cottage that she’ll go to with the dogs. She’ll take her sketch book and draw the plants and animals she sees to recharge for a little bit.
Evan: Jack’s office. She knows she’s techinically not supposed to be on the head officer’s floor without a good reason but no one really says anything whenever she comes up. Not about her being there or about her falling asleep on Jack’s couch after a few minutes. It’s usually better if he’s there but it doesn’t always matter. But on bad days, the office isn’t enough and she’ll usually search HQ to find him. And promptly pass out nearby when she does.
Eyra: The diner is her best place to be because it reminds her of her original home. It’s her connection to her past even if it’s in Insomnia now. The food, the conversation, the people, all of it makes her feel at home. If she’s not tucked into a booth near the back, she’s in the kitchen, either cooking or talking with the cooks. The smell of good food and coffee have always been a part of her life and she’s honestly happy where she has both. If the diner is too busy to simply sit, she’ll usually go into the apartment upstairs and open the windows so she can still smell the food and pretend she’s still downstairs amid the bustle or back home in the diner of her childhood.
3. What kind of flowers would their flower crown be made of?
Asha: Despite the obvious choice of roses, she’d actually have gardenias and chrysanthemums in reds and whites.
Elora: Carnations and asters in sprays of pinks and purples.
Evan: Peonies and gerberas in soft pinks and white.
Eyra: Hydrangea with orchids and sweet pea laced between the large blooms.

1. On one of the zippers inside her purse there’s a tiny pachimari charm that Eri brought back from a mission in Japan. Ev only ever got to hear about the trips and the ridiculousness that ensued wherever Eri and the guys went. The small thing is a little faded but she refuses to get rid of it.
2. Spare glasses. Tiny child is very dependent on her glasses so she has a spare with her anywhere she goes. They’re kept in a case covered in kitten faces because why the hell not?
3. Lint sheets. It’s boring but that cat thing? Ev has a pair of long haired cats that enjoy cuddling so there’s constantly cat hair everywhere. Even when she’s at work all day somehow it still gets on her.
4. It’s been replaced a few times over the years, but a small journal. She’s always thinking and has learned to write that shit down. Most of it only makes sense to her but there are pages that other people have written on, little special notes to her she refuses to get rid of. Especially when Overwatch falls and its all she has of some of them.
5. Lip gloss, chap stick, lipstick, all things lip. Girl loves her lip products (and makeup honestly) and has a little bag in her purse that’s full of only different kinds. There’s a smaller one with other makeup but her focus is on the lip shades...probably because she keeps kissing the cowboy and messing it up.
6. A usb key with all of her personal projects on it. This is from her time at Overwatch and what she’s been working on in whatever free time she has. Both her drones and dark matter gun designs are on there and that thing is set to wipe if anyone other than her uses it. It’s also in the shape of a space ship.
7. An old photo tucked into her journal that’s worn around the edges and dotted with tear stains. There’s a matching one out in the world that’s just as worn with her cowboy.
