Watakon Season 2 has arrived...
As a rule, I seldom consult the current season anime list for viewing prospects. It usually ends up much along the lines of that prudent warning that a certain legendary flying squirrel used to give to his moose buddy Bullwinkle about his prospects for successfully pulling a rabbit out of a hat:
"But that trick never works!" Well, almost never. At least, in my experience lately.
Serendipity works better, even if I end up arriving late for the party.
For example: some anime VTuber happened to mention, by way of criticism directed at The Rings of Power, that there happened to be an anime that portrays elves better, more like how Tolkien did, in fact. Something called Frieren.
I decided that I'd give the first episode a try, and see what happens. I had no idea that this Frieren: Beyond Journey's End thing was going to be fabulous. And it's not just because I'm a sucker for anything with a music score by Evan Call, either.
