13: “I won’t let anyone hurt you, you’re safe with me.” 

-The first time Phil heard it, he thought he was just imagining it.

-It continued though. Everyday when he stepped outside to do whatever it was he was climbing out of the safety of his apartment for.

-After the fourth or fifth time, he decided to investigate.

-Instead of heading towards the coffee shop that was his original destination, he turned right and peaked into the small alley close to the building. 

-It was a pretty stupid thing to do; venturing into a shady alley wasn’t the most intelligent thing he’d ever done, but he persisted anyway.

-He found the source of the noise within a minute. It was a small bundle of ratty towels, and tucked inside was a tiny kitten. 

-It was orange and had a little white spots on it’s fur and Phil instantly fell in love.

-The kitten was a bit skittish, unsure about Phil, but once he slowly extended his hand out for it to inspect, the purring started instantly.

-When Phil picked it up, he tucked it close to his chest. He noticed a few scratches on it and that it was gingerly using one of it’s paw.

- “I won’t let anyone hurt you, you’re safe with me,” Phil cooed at it. “Dan’s gonna be mad at first but he’ll love you just as much as I do.”

-He started his way back to the apartment, sneezing as he trucked up the stairs.
