My thoughts:

I have no idea why I am reading so many books about female serial killers, but oh well. Here we are.

This book was an okay read. It didn't take me two weeks to finish (more like five days? Maybe?), but I also didn't think "whoa, I need to know what happens next!". The story was fine, I guess, but I was not a fan of Millie, the female lead. Yes, her murdering men was mostly to save women, but it felt a bit out of place at times.

Homegirl was spiralling bad, getting more and more sloppy with each kill while thinking that she is oh so clever and getting better at murdering people. Her line of thinking was mostly annoying. Millie was convinced that she is "better" than others, that she is smarter, that she does no wrong - unless of course she does, like all the idiocy she showed when taking trophies, not thinking of cameras or, well, killing an innocent guy.

I liked Nina, her friend, and James, her situationship, but eh.

As my friend @reni-reads put it, this book reads like "I'm not like other girls!" and "The murder is fun because girlpower teehee". And it's true, these two sentences are the core of the book. Which doesn't make it bad but also... not good.

This was one of those reads were I thought "Yeah. This was a book that I just read." I don't think I will be coming back to this book ever again because it really wasn't that interesting.

I finished reading this book on August 20th, 2025.
