Happy to announce the premiere of Love Is Love, a new video from my original band Evening Redness. This was the most hopeful track from our 5-song EP of protest music Burn It Down, and it seems appropriate to launch it during Pride Month. Enjoy!

Mourning the passing of Cormac McCarthy, a true master and an inspiration. The way this novelist wove gorgeous prose around the most horrific and tragic storylines was a masterclass in turning darkness and grief into beautiful art.
That's why my original band took our name from the subtitle of one of his most amazing works Blood Meridian, Or the Evening Redness in the West. Rest well, sir.
“How surely are the dead beyond death. Death is what the living carry with them. A state of dread, like some uncanny foretaste of a bitter memory. But the dead do not remember and nothingness is not a curse. Far from it.”

This is pretty exciting.
My original band is finally going to play the big room at one of my very favorite local venues. With two really exceptional bands to follow.
I've been stretching myself pretty thin musically, while stressing out constantly about a day job that absolutely never returns a smooth day of easy successes. But this bit of good luck is the indirect result of two opportunities that wouldn't have been there if I weren't making so many efforts in different directions. It's gratifying to actually see some reward for effort in a field where that relationship so seldom exists.
Merry Christmas y’all
My band Evening Redness heads back to the Taproom on Ludlow (Cincinnati) on Friday. I'm a huge Saturn Batteries fan and used to play with Intro Signal, so I'm excited about the rest of the lineup, too.
FREE show. Music starts at 8.
Finally! After doing this for just about a decade, my band Evening Redness will actually be playing MOTR on a Friday night! We had a show there once early on, but it was a Monday "showcase" where we performed for the other two acts and the bartenders. If you're in the Cincinnati area, please come by this Friday (5/10). We're on last, around midnight, so imma need a nap that day.
