I attended this event when it arrived vis email from GameStop. I at first was surprised because I never knew this event existed. Fortunately I attended and had a good and informative time. The event was a gather of women of POC and it felt every welcoming. Similar to the speaker from PBS Kids one employer was hired despite not having any experience with the gaming industry. Just like what Professor Cheike said often it’s who you know that can net you a job. She’s learned how to adapt and understand the technology of the field. Through this event I learned how important it is to ensure to put yourself out there and connect with people and I have started following several speakers on Linkedin.

Event#1 (Hair’itage)

The hair’ image play was insightful and visually striking. Since this was a virtual events the actresses weren’t able to put on a full on scale production as they usually would in person.The stages and props they were able to assemble within their homes were still visually appealing. Most of the time they provided monologues and wearing black shirts contrasting it with a white background or a lighter hue background. This help to provided a nice contrast with the images appearing on the screen. By working with negative space (a term I recently relearned) it helped give the actresses a very striking figure/appearance when they were delivering their monologues. The flyer for the event used Serif font and with the royal blue and white being a predominant colors on the flyer. It helped the letters pop out more. Which drew my eye and kept my attention but, that is just my personal opinion.

Fun Cooking, Fun Breakfast, Fun Day at Green Explosion!

Hari Sabtu, tanggal 14 Juni 2014 lalu, UI Cooking Club mendapat sebuah kehormatan.

Nggak, kita nggak dapat Iron Throne atau telur naga.

Tapi di hari itu, kami diajak oleh BEM UI berkolaborasi untuk acara Green Explosion! Kalau nggak percaya, ini buktinya:

  Tuh.  Beneran ada nama UI Cooking Club, kan?

Di Green Explosion, kami menyediakan sarapan gratis lewat Fun Cooking. Tadinya sempat bingung sebaiknya mau masak apa, tapi akhirnya kita memilih menu sarapan yang 'back to basic', yakni :

Sandwich & Pancake!

Para BPH UI Cooking Club sejak pagi-pagi sudah stand by di booth dan mulai meracik bahan makanan. Ngintip yuk, foto-fotonya :D

    Semuanya kelihatan supersibuuuk... karena banyak peserta Green Explosion yang lapar dan menunggu, hahaha..

  Tapi karena ini 'Fun Cooking'... yang masak harus dengan hati riang doong ~ 

Nida dan Ninin tampak begitu bahagia mengaduk adonan pancake dan lantas memasaknya di atas frypan. (Ninin, awas nanti pancake-nya gosong kalau kamu memandang Nida terus...)

    Fida dari Cooking Team UICC mempersembahkan roll pancake ala UI Cooking Club! Masih hangat lho :3
