Small Talk for Sleepy_fan (whose tumblr I cannot find) -- Fox/Anakin/Padme

It starts simply, just small talk initiated by Skywalker in the anteroom to the Chancellor’s offices. Fox isn’t exactly opposed to this, because guard duty can be boring, and the Chancellor doesn’t usually object to someone entertaining his favorite Jedi. Skywalker is awkward and earnest, and a little emotionally volatile. Fox is too tired for his shit most of the time, though, so they end up talking about the most random things.

There's a probably-Jedi hanging around the True Mandalorians, and Jango is intrigued.

Shmi has been alone for a very long time. Not lonely; she’s had Anakin, after all. But as far as adult romantic companionship is concerned, she’s been rather bereft. She’s had a few flirtations, but between her busy life as a working slave and also that of a mother, time for a partner had been scarce. Then Ani left. And a few months later, he came back.

Hetalian Cupid Event - Serenade

Light filtered through the curtain where Gabriel sat on the couch, guitar in hand. He played a few chords, waiting for his boyfriend to return home. He heard the garage door opening so Gabriel stopped playing and waited for Lars to enter the bedroom. He did, after several long minutes. Lars raised an eyebrow, waiting for Gabriel to speak but spoke instead when Gabriel turned his focus on the guitar.

“And what are you doing in my house?”

“That’s rude, normally people give their guests something to drink.” “You are on my couch, in my room, in my house without saying you were coming over.” “Call the couch what it is; It’s the weed couch, we smoke weed on this couch because you don’t want to on your bed. Anyways be quiet, I have something for you.”

Lars looked as if he had something to say, but was cut off by Gabriel playing the guitar. He listened as the other man sang a song in his language. Lars sighed quietly, this was the exact type of thing that Gabriel would do. Eventually the song faded out, and so did the singing. Gabriel looked at, expecting something. Lars stared right back, waiting for Gabriel to speak.

“Did you like the song?””

“Sure.”

“What does sure mean here?”

Lars sighed again, “Yes, I liked it… You still haven't told me what you’re doing here.”

“That’s not important.” Lars just shook his head and muttered something under his breath. Gabriel counted this as win.

Arthur gazed at Gabriel reading his book, briefly pondering if this new alliance of theirs would be a good idea. He broke out of his trance when Gabriel curiously returned his look. Arthur coughed into his hands, trying to cover up the fact that he had just been staring at the other boy.

“Is everything ok?”

“Yes, don’t worry.”

Gabriel gave him an uncertain look, then turned back to his book. Arthur slowly removed his face from his hands. He turned his attention to the journal in front of him, trying to will the flustered blush off his face. He started writing in his journal, trying to distract himself from looking at the boy sitting across from him. It didn’t work, and he snuck a peak, only to realize that he had stopped reading his page and was staring blankly at the page in front of him. Gabriel glanced over at Arthur, who had looked back to his journal immediately.

“...Arthur?”

“Yes?”

“This new alliance of ours… It’s going to work out I think.”

Gabriel didn’t respond to this, and instead grabbed Arthur’s hand and lifted it up to his lips, and kissed the back of it gingerly. The blush that Arthur had been working so hard to push down had sprung back up coloring his face and ears a bright crimson red. Finally Gabriel had spoken,

“Are you sure?

“I promise you it will all be ok.”
