“Kay!” Thank goodness he managed to find her amidst the chaos. She’s fighting very well, despite being just one kid in the middle of (another) apocalypse. Wand already out, Barry makes up for the potential distraction he’s caused by shooting a bolt of lightning at the robot clone nearest her.
“Are you doing okay? Need any healing?” He takes a position beside her, facing the opposite direction, and starts keeping CPNs off her back. “I’m behind you!”

“Watch out-- Thunder Fang!” Stoutland collides with the CPN moments before it can hit the other boy, slamming it into the ground. Beside it, Porygon-Z flits and glitches between the monsters, seeming to understand their patterns better than anyone else can. “Well done! Keep up the pressure!”
He spares a moment to look at the person they just rescued. “Emil, are you all right? Didn’t they return your Poké-- your monster friends?”

“Welcome! What kind of malasada can we serve you today?” James asks, waving to the new customer outside-- not one he recognizes, sort of sickly looking. Not really quiet enough, he mumbles to the others, “He looks like he could really use one...”
SUBSISTENCE PART 1.
Last we left off, AU!Barry was a doctor working in a hospital and in the mob. He was used without his knowledge to deceive and hurt Eve (Mew), and he got real pissed at his boss about it.
After those events, he finally got himself out and broke ties with the mob. He hasn’t seen Eve since, although he keeps occasional tabs to make sure nobody else has tried to go after them.
He’s still involved in shady dealings sometimes, though it’s on his own terms these days - no killing just because because someone ordered him to.
He’s now part of the Spirale Defense Force, skilled both as a marksman and a medic.
Despite parting on bad terms 10 years ago (Canon!Barry had to forcibly subdue AU!Barry to seal him away), both versions of Barry get along decently -- they’ve got similar goals, after all.
SUBSISTENCE PART 2.
Barry was already at full power, but now magic actually works against the CPNs!
He’s a skilled wizard - you’re sure to find him fighting CPNs, defending anyone who needs it, and getting people to whatever safe places he can find.
You might find him in the flesh or as a lich (a shadowy ghost wearing his red robe). He’ll have similar abilities & behaviors regardless, so either form works fine for interactions!

“Hi-ho, if it isn’t Webster!” James leans out the window of the malasada truck to wave at the person on the docks. ...Two people, actually. “Who’s that with you, a relative?”
The James from Team Rocket peers over the counter, and is surprised to see a face he recognizes in the same place.
“Why, you’re that fishmonger! I didn’t know you weren’t from the city.”

Jessie & James run a malasada truck!
They’ve got a cat (Meowth) and dog (Growlie).
Could tell you lots about carnivorous and dangerous plants. He just thinks they’re neat.
Not really involved with the monster situation - he’s leaving that to more capable people. (Visitor!James is also not seeking out any monster fights, but he’ll help if one breaks through and someone really needs assistance.)
There’s a golden maneki-neko by the truck’s customer window :)
