Rising waters & rising tempers || Cora/Gia/Stefan
As the rain first started to come down, Cora didn’t think much of it, but then it was like the heavens opened and all she can do is let out a heavy sigh and roll her eyes. The marshes and the bayou can be quite muddy at the best of times, but as the torrential downpour continues, everywhere starts to be very waterlogged and sludgy.
She’d spotted Jackson earlier and gave him a small smile as he looked like he was busy and had stuff on his mind. It’s only when she really observes and focuses on him, he catches her interest. One thing about Cora Hale, she takes notice of things--especially the people closest to her. So a short time later, she follows him, not too close because he will sense her--but she is a good enough tracker with her sense of smell, to stay far enough back and on the right side of which way the wind blows--so he cant pick up her scent too.
This brings her to the church and as the young Hale watches him enter, she raises a brow, but doesn’t move for a few minutes, before crossing the road and entering too, shaking her head a little to dispel the heavy rain weighing her hair down.
Once inside, her dark hues looks around and she can’t see Jackson, but decides while she is there, she will stay under the radar and at the moment is doing quite well at it. She wonders if Derek is around also, casually walking through the groups of people to try and find out, but doesn’t see him.
It’s a good job people aren’t mind readers because Cora thinks there are too many vampires in the church for her liking and it keeps her guard up and makes her alert, but also minding her own business as long as they do the same. She isn’t the most social type anyway, especially when it comes to large crowds and would sooner keep to herself or at least just a one on one chat with someone.
Noticing a bench that is unoccupied against the far wall, the young Hale takes a seat and picks up some hymn book, not that she is particularly interested in bursting into song, but at least it’s something to do for now.
