Captain America made her nervous.
That was the simple truth of it, not in a way that she thinks her life is at risk with him nearby and he knew that in this new planet it was a new begining, a clean slate for a lot of people... like her but Captain America made her nervous because her very first mission had involved fooling him and she had succeeded, she had bested him and then years later he had caught up to her, but she wasn’t X-23 anymore, no, she was Laura and so years later she understood what she did was wrong even if it wasn’t by choice and she understood that in an ideal world the people that did that to her would pay but perhaps she owed some retribuition as well and so she froze, upon seeing the Captain, while she was holding weapons and she stilled.
“I... Just... Just in case, with everything that happened, it’s better to be prepared and I would rather not wait until is a close combat... you know... in case there is any combat to begin with.”
