Sitting at the bar, Jaymes tapped her ring against the glass bottle in her hand. She had no idea why she had even ventured out. Probably to keep her eyes on all the wolves who came out to play. The night was loud and she felt quiet, and never at home at these kinds of things. She sighed and took a drink, noticing a new scent in her vicinity, “some party huh?” She asked making an attempt to not be standoffish for once.

The festivities had been underway for sometime, and Sera had been watching from one of the trees near the lake. While taking part in many of the day to day activities, even having a job in town, they often tried not to involve themselves too much in the lives of the others that lived here. Still there was something intoxicating about seeing everyone so happy, and the smell of the food, most of it, was delightful. 

They hopped down from the branch they were perched in, landing gracefully on their feet before joining the festivities. “You don’t know if there would happen to be any fish in all of that?” they asked pointing over to where the food was set up

“I-I tried to help...I tried to save her” she stuttered while looking down at her shaking crimson stained hands “H-Her soul was already too far gone for me to be able to pull her back. I’m so sorry”

Noah had piled up some of the food on a plate and grabbed some water before finding a place to sit and eat. There was a set up of some tables and chairs, but he’d decided on a empty space on the ground to sit and pick at food as he people, or rather creature, watched. His gaze focusing mainly on the werewolves that were gathered and mingling around.

SOMETHING

            W I C K E D

                      THIS WAY C O M E S . . . 

Around 10 o’ clock at night, a scream echoes in the trees surrounding Lake Ryn. The music falters, as the border guards present hasten to investigate. Silence reigns over the lake, until after about a half hour, the forest suddenly swarms with paramedics and FBI agents.

The agents push back the crowd, telling them to go home, that the party is over, and that there is nothing to see. However, those that linger can catch a glimpse of the guards coming back out of the forest, two of them carrying a stretcher which holds the limp body of Honey Larkin. Blood covers her pale, still form from a wound on her neck, and they hastily put her in the back of the ambulance.

If pressed, the guards admit that there has been a murder, but that’s all they can say. The FBI and paramedics leave Sunnybrooke as swiftly as they appeared, telling the guards that no one is allowed to leave town until the investigation is complete. As far as they are concerned, everyone at the party is a suspect.

The event ends June 3rd, current threads may address the plotdrop, or new starters can be made.

The party was a nice change in pace for the medium, where there was a lot of vibrant energy flowing through the air as people danced, drank, and laughed. But ultimately she resorted to her old habit of taking a table at the far end near the lake front, watching the other citizens of Sunnybrooke interact and strengthen their bonds with each other. Sipping on a cold glass of wine at the table, Celine’s ears perked to the whispers of a small child sitting beside her, gazing out to the crowds.

“It’s a party, little one. A time for people to relax and forget about the world for a moment and all of the trouble it can bring,” she explained as the little girl whispered more, pointing towards herself as the medium’s features saddened but the smile grew. “No...it is not to forget you, dear,” Celine reassured the little girl, unaware of the figure drawing near. “Feelings of loved ones being gone always linger. Sometimes people need to...forget for a little bit...to make their hearts light and spirits happy. To make life a little bearable for a moment longer...”

Rage, hotter then lava, filled Jaymes’ chest as she stormed through FBI agents and paramedics. How could she have let this happen? How could one of her own be dead. Someone was going to pay, eye for an eye. Jaymes would find out who did this and rip them limb from limb with her bare hands. Someone would be held responsible. Lip bared, shoulders pulled back, and her eyes filled with cold iron, Jaymes approached the nearest guard snarling, “And what was so important you weren’t doing your job?” Her hands remained stiffly at her sides, an effort to not strangle the man.

“It’s so surprising! I mean, can you imagine?” She holds a hand over her mouth, which is dropped open in exaggerated awe. “At your own party ... tragic.” She sighs then, lifting her drink towards her lip to take a long sip.
