hello i just found your blog while i was going through the medici tag, and i loooooooooveee it, i JUST finished season 2 and i found out that the third one is on the making!! im so happy!! though we wont see francesco :(((

i too am devastated that history rudely said that francesco had to die before s3 and frankly i already know i’ll like s3 less because he’s not there, but i’m excited for it nevertheless haha and i AM crossing my fingers for some kind of francesco flashback or ghost appearance? even if they just reuse clips from s2 to remind us about the pazzi conspiracy and all that. at the very least he will appear in painting form so that’s something

hey Garru how are you? i wanted to ask you, i would like to start a list of books from different countries so i wanted to ask you what are your favourite books from croatian authors and films from Croatia that you love, maybe books that they made you read in school that were to your liking! all this comes from me reading To kill a mockingbird wich i loved, and i know they make kids in the us read it at some point in school haha Thank you! xoxo

hi, this is such a great question and there are many many Croatian books and movies that i adore. unfortunately, not many are translated to English and you won’t be able to find them.  

i would recommend  Croatian Tales of Long Ago, by Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić, you can find those in pdf if you just google it. she is called Croatian Christian Andersen and her stories are awesome. another book that i know for sure that is translated is Goldsmith’s treasure by August Šenoa. that one is first Croatian historical novel and it’s important to us but tbf it’s very very old and not really very fun...idk give it a try if you want. The Return of Philip Latinowicz by Miroslav Krleža is also translated. it’s a pretty hard read and the structure is complex and storyline is kinda weird but personally i love that book. as for newer books... my fav new book is Ciganin ali najljepši by Kristian Novak which i don’t think is translated yet but i’m pretty sure it will be.

as for movies... most Croatian movies are on youtube but there are no subs there. maybe you could find subs for some of them online.... one of my favourites is a comedy Tko pjeva zlo ne misli. pretty sure you could find subs in English for that. i also love Gospoda Glembajevi (it’s actually a play but the movie in my opinion is a masterpiece), Kad mrtvi zapjevaju, Maršal, Kako je počeo rat na mom otoku (that shit is fucking hilarious wtf), Što je muškarac bez brkova (book with the same title by Ante Tomić)...

as for newer stuff... Sonja i bik is pretty fun and Ti mene nosiš is sad and depressing but good there are two shows that i know for sure a translated, Novine on Netfix and Uspjeh on HBO.

i’m gonna publish this because maybe somebody else has some more ideas. ljudi pomoć dal mi išta prevodimo ikad??

heyy how do you feel about roger from outlander? i really curious to other's people's opinion on him, cause sometimes i like him, and others he pisses me off

Look I don’t love Roger and nor do I hate Roger. I just don’t find him that interesting? I wish we learned more about him and his life in Scotland/Boston. I wish there were more such scenes of him and more development before he travelled back in time. 

The show is trying hard to give Bree and Roger that same ‘epic romance’ feel like it did for Jamie and Claire but that cannot work and I don’t see it.

Also I was super pissed at Roger for abandoning Bree on their wedding night over one argument. It felt off and very OOC. That beat up he got from Jamie was unfair but I can’t help but chuckle a little coz he deserved it for just storming off like that.
