Warnings: mention of needles, but mostly fluff.

“Don’t look at me like that. It’s for your own good.”
Scott screwed up his face. “I’ll remind you of that when it is your turn.”
Virgil replied with a face, possibly one reminiscent of a five-year old’s wrinkled nose, but it got the result he had been aiming for.
“I see maturity hasn’t changed you that much.”
“Behave and you get a lollipop.” Virgil tapped the syringe and cleared it of air bubbles.
He got a pair of narrowed blue eyes for that. “What flavour?”
Virgil didn’t even bother to look at his brother for that one. “What do you think?”
“Don’t tell me you actually found Benny’s.”
He had to smile. “I found Benny’s”
“Sherbet super fizz?”
“The one, the only, and I bought a crate full.” Virgil turned to his brother, hypodermic in his hand and a smirk on his lips.
Scott sat on the stool in the infirmary, eyes sparkling as if all his Christmases had come at once. “Really?”
“Show me your bare shoulder and you can enjoy memory lane as much as you like.”
Scott was always fast, but his eagerness to get stabbed had his shoulder ready in a flash.
Virgil did the deed as quickly and as painlessly as possible. “All done.”
“Where’s my lollipop?”
“Give me a moment to put the needle down…” Was Scott actually bouncing where he sat?
Yes. Yes, he was.
By the time Virgil dug out the vaunted lollipop and handed it to his brother, he had a grin on his face as wide as Scott’s.
“I can’t believe it. You found Benny’s Original.”
“I know a guy.”
Scott peeled the wrapper of with reverence and, as if he was tasting fine wine, he slowly put it in his mouth.
“Mmm…” It was such a contented sigh, it set Virgil grinning even more fondly.
“You sure you don’t need some privacy?”
That earned him an arched eyebrow glare.
Virgil sniggered. “Okay, lollipop boy, you can help me drag Allie in here.”
Scott mumbled around the candy in his mouth. It sounded more like a protest than acceptance.
“Yeah, well, it’s for his good, too.” He tipped the used hypodermic into the sharps container and began prepping another vaccine. “Maybe you can share your lollipop stash.”
Blue eyes widened for a moment, obviously caught between being the best big brother in the world and his precious stash of Benny’s sherbet super fizz lollipops.
A snort and Virgil put him out of his pain. “Don’t worry. I bought him his favourites, too. You can keep all yours.” He had to laugh at his brother’s expression of both disbelief and satisfaction. “But, we have to find him first. Let’s put some of that sugar you’re inhaling to good use.”
Scott was in his thirties, but right now he was pretty much twelve.
It was so good to see.
And if Virgil had bought out Benny’s business three years ago just to ensure they kept making that particular lollipop, well, he did need to have some personal investments.
And if Scott remained unaware of that fact, it was just for his own good.
After all, not all medicine had to be nasty.
