about a stupid character that won’t leave my brain (Spelldon Cauldronello)
TLDR : Spelldon is the kid of the Wicked Witch of the West (blessed by Circe) and used to go to Everafter high and is SO much like his mom
headcannon that both Spelldon Cauldronello and Casta Spell are both children of the Wicked Witch of the West (who are blessed by Circe and do still know the goddess personally)
because they know and are blessed by Circe though, while at monster high and in the monster realm, their cover story is she is their mom (or something like that)
because no one knows that Oz actually exists
people have heard of the wicked witch and oz as a story, but no one at monster high or in the monster world, knows that oz is real (or that there is a massive war going on)
kinda like how the everafter high girlies thought monster high was a myth
I also like to think that for a year or two (maybe even middle school?) Spell actually went to Everafter high with C.A. Cupid
(he was a rebel obviously)
however, even though lot of people were really awesome and accepting of him there, he just never fully felt like everafter high was where he belonged
that along with the war going on in Oz, meaning he’s never gotten to really see or live in the place he SHOULD have gotten to call home, and his parents having to be away to help people in oz, he was probably somewhat a troubled child
meaning disciplinary issues
meaning eventually he was recommended to leave Everafter high
and his bestie C.A. Cupid was like “I know somewhere you could go” 😏
And then he started going to Monster high
and IMMEDIATELY he felt more at home
sure yeah fairy tales were weird and wacky, and part of him feels like Everafter was probably more like Oz, but he just felt more comfortable and aquatinted with the scaretastic! Vibe of Monster high
also both he and Casta were made via magic, like literally, Elphaba wanted kids, opened the grimoire, and with the blessing of Circe, boom baby Casta (and later Spell in the same way)
and yes, part of the paragraph above is because of the Wicked books where it is implied that Elphaba (the wicked witch of the west) was born intersex/is intersex (and then was raised a girl and identified as a girl later in life)
Also, Casta Spell is a stage name, her first name is Casta, the last name Spell is a cover last name
same with Spelldon’s last name being Cauldronello
both of their actual last names are Thropp (after their wonderful mother)
also Fiyero for all intents and purposes is their dad, and Glinda is their lesbian Aunt
also just to clarify Circe’s relationship to them, she is sort of like a second mother figure, she cares about their wellbeing and gives them magical resources, and during the summers they usually stay on her island for a while
Circe basically watches over them and makes sure they don’t get into trouble while their parents are away
Also their like magical house they usually live in can like, magically teleport to different worlds
for a while it was just on Circe’s island, then it got moved to the Monster realm in the Boo world
also, Casta never really went to Everafter like Spell did for a bit, she more so took after Circe’s magic and path rather than her mother’s (which was not an issue it was just a thing)
And because Circe wasn’t really a firiy tale for Everafter, Casta just always went to Monster high and then a popstar in the Monster realm
Spelldon only really went to Everafter because Circe knew that Eros was gonna send his adopted daughter there (for the most part) and there was still like, a bit of pressure to follow in the footsteps of your fairy tale parents in the Everafter universe
and Everafter knew that Oz existed so they figured the Wicked Witch of the West’s kid would go to their school
(do I think Elphaba would be okay with her kid being forced to sign some book saying he has to conform, no, at best she would have been highly skeptical and at worst thrown a riot.
Now do I think Spelldon would have had an issue following in his mom’s footsteps, hell no, he’s a fucking punk and would LOVE to help destabilize and try to tear down a fascist power in the name of freedom and helping those oppressed, but he WOULDN’T WANT TO SIGN HIS LIFE TO IT ILL TELL YOU THAT!!!)
so between C.A. Cupid going there (again, for the most part) and a bit of pressure from Everafter high, Spelldon went there for a bit
then proceeded to ace potions and spells class, while blowing multiple holes in the building, being caught snooping around in the Everafter basement, being caught snooping in multiple of the attics, holding exotic magical creatures in the old dragon stables, going to wonderland and back somehow on his own MULTIPLE times, casting multiple several day hexes on the school, breaking and entering into different classrooms after hours, turning the floor into lava in the cafeteria during lunch break, and diverting the entire moat.
After all this acting out he got expelled from the school and his parents got him a therapist in the monster realm, and C.A. Cupid suggested he go to Monster high instead
they waited a bit before sending him there, just so he could go to therapy and start to somewhat heal before going back into a school environment
also he is so like his mom (Elphaba)
He is so soft and kind hearted, always looking out for any outcasts he can help and be friends with, while also being strong and sometimes and bit could and tough on the outside, he acts like nothing effects him, but on the inside every little jab hurts.
he definitely has a huge passion for social justice
and he does not raise his hand in class, if he knows something he’s saying it, if he’s passionate about something, the words just start rattling out of his mouth
sometimes he can be too literal and a bit brash, but he genuinely does care and means well
GODS I love this boy

I might split this into several different posts in the future
but for now I’m just gonna leave it as it is
as my deranged ramble about my headcannon for Spelldon’s family/how he got to Monster high, yay!

Marian Piper is the daughter of Melody Piper. Her father is unknown. Mari, short for Marian, loves music and even takes after her mother in being the school DJ.
Ever After High is a way better story(than decedents) but thinking about the logistics of the bloodlines and destinies being passed down is a nightmare. Like there has to be extra fill in Heriones/Heroes otherwise you just would run out of people. Like does the Beast become Belle's father? Who becomes the next beast then? It can't be their second kid.... because gross. The story is messed up but not that messed up.
