It’s Tuesday. My eldest is at school. Rosie, my three-year-old and I potter around the house. Cooking dinner. Washing up. Washing sheets. Well, I do that. She does her own thing. We wander up to the village park in Everdingen. The streets are quiet and safe.

Winter school days
This morning, we got up in the dark, and scraped ice off the car to take my daughter to school. As we drove, the sky broke into whispers of colour. The colour intensified as the mist cleared. Snow caked the pathway to school, and the fields surrounding the school village. The canals had iced over. We went for a crunchy walk with my youngest, and then warmed up in a gezellig cafe.
