I was going to start this post with a lot of Scenarios that fit well (like can you imagine Lance finding an alternate universe where he’s a TV star and wanting to stay with that Voltron because they need him because that is like, so horribly feasibly in character), and that quotes don’t work quite as well even though the goof is good, but, well, I’ve since been consumed by IMDB
starting out with probably the best subtle one
