So I was talking to one of my friends about a character in the book that we’re reading. She was described as short and somewhat stout, but nonetheless beautiful. When I tried to say that she was curvy but not fat, and said that curvy people can still be beautiful. He just gave me a look like “yeah right” and went on his way. I was like Wtf!?!?!? And then two girls in my class, who are stick thin and no curves agreed with him. I’m not fat, or skinny, I consider myself average. And now I just feel really degraded. And boys wonder why girls have such low self esteem. …
