Damn. You sir are a masterpiece. Holy cow. The sheer amount of skill has me blown away. Do you dress like this all the time?
Thank you!! If you’re referring to things like my 1730′s outfit or my c. 1790 October one, then no I don’t dress that fancy all the time. My everyday clothes are very historically inspired, but a bit more casual. I normally wear my hair in a braid (it’s gotten very thin and styling it historically takes SO LONG and the powder gets EVERYWHERE!), and I sometimes wear breeches, but usually it’s just fall front trousers. Partly because they’re faster to put on in the morning and partly because the sewing machines I use at work have knee levers and it’s annoying to wear something with buttons at the knee while using them.
All my shirts are 18th century in cut and construction, and some are in plain linen but some are more modern fabrics. I like to wear 1770′s-90′s waistcoats most days, but will someday make an earlier style of sleeved waistcoat that I can wear as a jacket. I also like to wear plain linen caps at home when it’s cold.
Here are some pictures of me in everyday clothes:

(That last one is a dressing gown I made a few months ago, so it’s just for at home.)
