Lucifer rarely reminisces about his time in Celestia. He is quite happy with the life he built for himself and his brothers, thank you very much. However.... One could never avoid remembering, and sometimes, missing, parts of one's old life.

When Lucifer "misses" his angel life, he can be found in a nice, little, hidden niche in the House of Lamentation, going through an album of photos he managed to preserve during his fall. A special album at that, for the photos were pictures extracted from memories, mostly his, but some of his brothers' too. It brought an extra specialness to it.

This is what Lucifer is doing today. If he remembers correctly, this marks the nth century since Belphie lost his fluffy little sunhat.

Belphie must have been a few centuries old only when he had lost his little hat that Lucifer had given him. Lucifer remembers: Belphie had scurried everywhere on his chubby little legs, checking every room, every street (does Celestia have streets?) possible, anywhere. He had come back that day with teary eyes and puffy cheeks from crying. Lucifer had smiled and picked up Belphie, assuring him that everything was okay. He could still get him a new hat. And suddenly, as if conjured by magic, Mammon had walked in, saying he had found the hat. Belphie had such a big smile that day when he put his hat on again.

Lucifer stares at the picture of a smiling baby Belphegor adjusting his hat with his own fond look.

A few pages later, there's a picture of Belphie and Beel curled up in Levi's bed.

When they were smaller, a bit before Lilith's arrival, Belphie used to wander around their home and get into his brother's bed to sleep comfortably. He often dragged Beel with him. And each day, Asmodeus and Levi either called Mammon or Lucifer to move them. But no matter how many times they were put in their beds, someone would wake up with the twins snoozing next to them. And then Lilith arrived, the twins set up a small bed next to her cradle and they slept all the time she slept.

This picture is from Asmo's memory. Lucifer and Mammon are picking up the twins as Levi opens the door for them. Asmo holds Lilith to place her with the twins in the big bed. The twins never crushed Lilith as infants.

One of the last photos of the album is from when they fell. When Belphie still loved Lucifer.

As Belphie often stated, he always slept better when with someone. After falling from Heaven, Belphegor was unable to close his eyes on his own. Someone always needed to be close so he could relax. It was either Beel, as Belphie's twin, or Lucifer, as the older brother. His warmth brought peace in this hellish, chaotic place that would eventually call home. Lucifer still carried his brothers, even when they were older. He showered them with the paternal love he couldn't get anymore. They needed it to finish growing into fine young men.

Lucifer misses the time his brother didn't resent him.

One can't escape reminiscing one's past life, no matter how hard they try.
