Richter sits beneath a tree, an open book laying over his lap as he goes over his next lesson plans for his students. The area is quiet, all but silent other than the gentle breeze that rustles through the leaves up above; and though perhaps such an environment would be soothing to some, for the half-elf.. he only felt on edge, for a reason he could not place.
When a bird suddenly took off from overhead, the loud flap of its wings practically booming in his ears, his entire frame flinched; eyes widening as he looked up ahead, as if expecting danger to have been there.
It takes him a moment to settle himself, shoulders easing downwards as he slumps back against the tree. He removes his glasses momentarily, reaching to pinch the bridge of his nose.
“I wonder if I will ever grow used to this again..” to be at peace, to know the silence around him was no longer so ominous. No voices would seep into his mind when he least expected it-- at least, not in this world.. though even after all this time, he still expected them to creep upon him at any given moment.
