Need to vent about the Russian Junior Championships in figure skating.
First off a big congrats to Lena (Elena Kostyleva) who won the entire competition. She deserved this win, her jumps were on point, her artistry was off of the walls, everything was amazing and I am so happy for her.
What I really want to talk about is everything surrounding Margo (Margarita Bazylyuk). After the short programs, her and Lena were separated by 0.22 points with Margo in the lead. WOW! That is insane. But then when it was her turn for the free program, she fell on all of her ultra c elements and a 3Lo. She is probably fighting through some kind of injury or just having an off day like all athletes have. After the program and during the kiss and cry, she didn’t cry at all. If you watch the footage even Sergei Dudakov (her coach) was angry at her and him and her other coach weren’t giving her any words of consolation which she probably needed a lot. I feel so bad for Margo because she is one of the best juniors and such an amazing skater who deserves the world.
