Fjorm wasn’t quite sure what attracted her to Laegjarn. Still, she could tell that it was more than simply the thought they could be friends, as that alone couldn’t explain the way she’d felt this drawn to the other woman.

if it was a fic about togami failing to do laundry, then that could be a conflict though depending on when it took place one with questionable characterisation because he does laundry in dr1′s canon, though the anon knows that now because they went to my twitter and read me mention that there afterwards.

it’s almost as if the fic’s conflict is not shown in the wip.

The boy whose Pokemon she had been nursing gave her a gentle smile that made her heart skip a beat as he repeated his words.

“I said… the one I want to be with you is Tsumiki-san, I choose you.”

sometimes you mean to post something earlier in the day, but the one discord server you mod for a friend falls into disarray and drama that lasts the whole day so you forget until 10 pm that you had something to post.

anyway, fic for @evil-muffins who wanted some laegjorm. the prompt for it was “one of them wins a Voting Gauntlet and part of the prize is a flower wreath/crown/huge bouquet, which she gives to the other one instead? It's up to you who wins and who gets the flowers :) “

fic is entirely under the cut. hope you like it, bri, i’m a little nervous since this is my first time seriously writing something with either of these characters! final word count, btw: 398

It had been a close battle. Laegjarn had been surprised to be nominated for the Voting Gauntlet once more, but she never wanted to refuse a challenge like this, even one as strange as the gauntlet.

She’d been even more surprised when she made it to the final round against Fjorm. She’d been aware her partner was also part of this gauntlet, so Laegjarn had known it was a possibility, but for it to actually happen still came as a shock to her.

Still, she wouldn’t let her personal attachment to her opponent hold her back. Fjorm wouldn’t have been pleased with her if she even attempted to hold back, so Laegjarn felt obligated to give it her all, more than she already did.

Again, though, it had been close. Every time the score was tallied and one of them was on top, by the next time the scores were reported, the advantage would be flipped. Back and forth it went, over and over, and Laegjarn was almost worried the end result would be a tie.

In the end, however, Laegjarn came out the victor. Commander Anna herself even gave Laegjarn a prize for winning… a beautiful crown of flowers. (While she wouldn’t say it out loud, Laegjarn suspected the flowers had come from the garden up on the Aether Resort, since it made for an affordable award from Commander Anna.)

Of course, that wasn’t the best prize Laegjarn received for her victory.

“Good job,” Fjorm said, congratulating her. She looked like a mess from all the fighting, and Laegjarn suspected she looked no better at the moment. Still, Laegjarn was more than willing to accept a kiss from her, no matter how the two of them appeared. It was brief, but certainly the better reward of the two.

The decision took only a moment before Laegjarn acted on it. She lifted the flowers off her own head and gently placed it on Fjorm’s.

It was much more fitting on her, Laegjarn thought, the beginnings of a smile on her face. The look of confusion on Fjorm’s face only made Laegjarn’s expression soften more.

“Laegjarn, what…” She reached up, the tips of her fingers brushing the crown.

“It suits you far better than it suits me.”

And then Fjorm was smiling, too, and that alone was much better than anything else Laegjarn could have ever gotten for winning.

Mikan keeps the blindfold on, chewing her lip.

“I know, it seems an awfully sketchy way to eat Christmas dinner, or any dinner,” says Nagito, next to her on their living room couch. Some more fried chicken presses against her lips. He rasps that laugh of his. “But aren’t your other senses intensified?”

The crisp coating crunches between her teeth, and each bite flushes her mouth with waves of spicy warmth, lingering after the meal.

“I’ll wash up too.” Then he lilts, “No peeking for another hour!”

Hopefully that’s enough time to salvage the house from his stint as chef.
