Part Three: the Escape. Because of course they escape. Of course they do. You didn't really think Lewis would just leave them, did you? Of course not.

And then comes sweet revenge.

Torture is so much more satisfying when it's deserved, Emma says with a smile, her eyes still not-quite-there. It's true, chimes Cleo, telling elaborate stories of what she wishes to do. Rikki hums a tune, a song that goes, yes-we're-gonna-torture-you-torture-you-torture-you-oh, yes-we're-gonna-torture-you-all-day-long!!! And Lewis is forced to wonder how much their time captive has irreparably changed his friends.

Denman is haunted by ghost-like figures, scratching at her ankles, and trying to pull her under. A sheet of ice envelopes around her as she's diving, just long enough to make her sure she'll die. And then it evaporates. The seas twist in ways they shouldn't, and flames spark blue.

From her studies, before she was forced to relinquish her subjects, she found that blue flame - the hottest flame - came only when Rikki was drove to the purest form of rage.

Unethical Laboratories Nominations

Nominate your favourite Evil Fucked Up Unethical lab! Rules: 1- Fictional only! This is meant to be silly and fun and I don't want to hear a

Come one! Come all! It's time I gave this thing a spin!

Have you ever wondered which evil or unethical laboratory is the most evil or most unethical of them all? Do you want to see your favourite evil scientist rise to the top of them all? Then you're in luck!

Nominations will close when I have enough of them, I don't have a set time idea for them, I'm hoping for a nice power of 2 like 16 or 32.

Rules:

Fictional only! This is meant to be silly and fun and I don't want to hear about the many times throughout history that people did fucked up things to other actual real live living people

It doesn't have to be a lab per se, a workshop or something is also fine, but it needs to either invent new machines/drugs/weapons/whatever, or commit experiments that are morally dubious. An evil factory does not count. Rule of thumb, if it is in the name of science or just seeing what's possible, go ahead.

It doesn't have to be technological! All laboratories are allowed so long as they have a disregard for human life or safety regulations! Potion labs? Genetic modification greenhouse? Garage meth setup? We don't discriminate here

IG fic snippet

Just a little snippet from the nightmare IG fic I’ve been tinkering with. This time poor Penny’s on the receiving end of another mad scientist’s nightmare machine.

Or, I just wanted an excuse to write more fluffy angst and H/C. January is such a depressing month for me so this is pure self-indulgence.^^ 

“Penny!”

She jumped at her uncle’s voice, still confused and disorientated from the nightmare. Strong arms pulled her close against a firm chest and the faint humming of electricity was like a gentle beacon, reminding Penny that it hadn’t been real, it hadn’t...

“Just a bad dream,” she mumbled, whether to herself or to her uncle she wasn’t sure. “Just a dream.”

“Wowsers, it must have been.” Gadget’s arms tightened carefully around her. “I heard you crying out.”

Penny tensed, embarrassed, but Gadget only held her closer until she was nearly in his lap. “Shh, you’re safe. Nothing’s going to hurt you. I’d never let anything hurt you,” he murmured.

And it was true. No matter what, her uncle had always protected her, even if it was by accident during all the times she and Brain had followed after him.

“You’re safe,” Gadget repeated, stroking his fingers through her hair. He continued with the gentle ministrations and murmured words of comfort until Penny was nearing sleep again.

Before slumber claimed her the last thing she was aware of was Gadget laying down on the bed and carefully drawing her down to rest next to him. A Gadget hand pulled the covers over them so he didn’t have to release her and Penny drifted off again, this time into a more peaceful slumber.

Most scientists, while not inherently evil, will go a little mad when they find out they have to spend the rest of the grant money this week or they’ll lose next years funding.
