What do you think would happen if Zuko became a ruthless dictator over the years? Also he loves Azula, because I just want me some Evil Zuko and her being loved by her big brother.

Oh, the sweet, heartbreaking angst of someone who legitimately tried his best to be a good person and a good ruler, but ended up succumbing to his worse traits! This would be one hell of an emotional rollercoaster.

His friends would definitively, slowly, turn against him one by one, which would only push him further into the dangerous mentality of needing absolute control and never be questioned. Once Iroh (and maybe Ursa) left as well, it would be the death of the old Zuko - there would just be nothing good left in him...

Except his love for Azula. Ironically enough, the "evil" sibling would be the only thing left that still makes him think before doing things and the people who are good to her get some of the slight compassion he is still able to show. Since he'd have no one left on his side beside her, everything he'd do would be solely for her (and for their kids once they had them) - ruling their nation with an iron fist, getting dragons, re-starting the war, taking prisoners, killing traitors...

Azula doesn't even have to asking him to give her the world - the world is his by right, and he loves her. If he wants to hand it share it with her, he can do that. No one can tell him no, and anyone who tries to do so will be put in their place. Anyone who ever harms his sister, or so much as threatens to, would be shown no mercy.

Azula would be immensily happy. She has the whole world at her feet, and, more important than anything, she has someone who loves her unconditionally and that is absolutely crazy about her. They'd both feel some slight guilt over their cruel actions every now and again, but the crushing majority of the time, the only thing that matters to them is that they finally have everything they always wanted, and that should have been theirs from the start.

Inspired by @good-eviening 's fic Fractures. For those who don't know what it's about, basically Zuko got jailed instead of being banished, and so the Gaang never met him. That's what I'm picturing they would think he'd look like. Basically an older male Azula who is more threatening. It also works as Male!Azula or just evil Zuko in general.

More particularly inspired by these lines (if you want to get the feeling):

I had this idea a few months ago, but then I didn't have the talent necessary to do it justice. I still don't really feel like it turned out how I imagined it, maybe I'll try again later :') Oh and this has been sitting in my program for a pretty long time I was too afraid to post it for some reason. But like, I did another thing today and I really want to post it but I need to post this first because the progress in style is really noticeable 😂

He does look a lot like Ozai, which... Wasn't the goal, but I guess that still makes sense? I gave him the scar (but like this time we could imagine he got it while getting into a fight or torturing innocents not in the same circumstances as in canon) to differenciate them

Also I love fire. It's so easy peasy lemon squeezy to draw it with a blending tool you just need like three different colored lines and boom! Pretty!

An AU where Zuko never has the final push to join TA: he finds in himself that he doesn't actually care about what will happen to the EK and is happy to be with his friends and family. Like a more apathetic version of Zuko, who is neither sadistic or fearful of the repercussions of war: he just wants to be respected by his father above all.

What do you think would happen after the eventual Fire Nation victory? Of course, I would also enjoy your thoughts on how Zucest and/or the Foursome would develop in this reality, if it isn't asking too much.

To make it become the foursome, he'd just have to, at some point, seduce Mai and Ty Lee - even better if he does it not just because he loves/lusts after them, but because he knows Azula wants them, and he sees it as an opportunity to get a "victory", because, of course, they'd still have their rivalry.

I need some zucest headcanons with evil!Zuko!

If Smol!Zuko was already evil

He and Azula would have stayed friends and I can see them having little squechemes that would 50% evil, 50% stupid, and 100% insane (sort of like cartoon villains, say Shego and Drakken from Kim Possible). They'd be on more equal footing - Zuko would not be a prodigy, but his sadistic tendencies, impacience, entitlement, and immense pride would have made him the perfect prince in Ozai's eyes. Regular!Ursa would be appalled by what both her babies are turning into, while Evil!Ursa would just be proud. When it came to the whole "Sacrifice your firstborn" fiasco, Ozai would either use it as a way to get rid of Ursa so she will stop trying to hold back their kids, or (if they're also an evil couple) they'd just plan Azulon's murder together, Ursa would not get banished, and then just have Ozai as Fire Lord with two powerful heirs.

Since there would be nobody with morals left in the family and Zuko's kind nature would never develop, he would not be banished. And since they'd have no morals and would consider themselves superior to others (and therefore allowed to do whatever they wanted) Zuko and Azula would probably get together the second puberty hits them. Ozai (and evil!Ursa) would not have a problem with that since it makes it almost guaranteed that they'll have strong heirs.

Since Zuko would never become the blue spirit and never rescue Aang after he was captured by Zhao, the biggest threat to their nation would already be gone. Either they'll take over Ba Sing Se somehow, or they'll just burn it to the ground along with the rest of the earth kingdom when the comet comes.

I can see Zuko and Azula having sort of "Gomez and Morticia" moments, acting like all the death, misery and horror surrounding them is the most beautiful thing in the world and having date nights among the ashes of their enemies. They'd later kill The Sun Warriors and have dragons for themselves because yes.

If Zuko became evil after being banished

On top of being bitter and resentful towards the entire world, and then having Azula lie to his face about Ozai wanting him to come home, Zuko would be furious and want revenge against his family. He'd probably want to kill his father and be a bit on the fence on whether he wants to do the same to Azula, or force her to marry him as a "punishment" for having looked down on him for so long (and totally not because he loves her or anything...)

As they're chasing the Avatar, he'd try (dressed as the blue spirit) to kidnap her, but she'd escape because she's Azula. Iroh would take him to Ba Sing Se (either to try make him forget about his revenge OR, if Iroh is also evil, to buy himself some time to work on a plan), which would lead to the whole thing with Azula genuinely offering to bring him home (if Iroh is not evil, he will not join them and be imprisoned like in the show - might get executed later).

Once they're home, Zuko and Azula would probably be sort of "enemies with benefits", and after they win the war, Zuko would convince Ozai to allow him to marry her (regardless of whether she wants to or not) to assure they'll have strong heirs. Be it either by wearing her out, or not giving her a choice, or convincing her useing the same arguments he used on Ozai, or having her gladly accepting his proposal, the fire siblings would get married (then kill The Sun Warriors, get dragons, have babies, etc)

If she already loves him by the time Zuko finds a perfect opportunity to murder Ozai, Azula will help him (probably with poison). If she doesn't, then Zuko will just disguise himself as the blue spirit, kill him, and disappear in the night, and Azula would only find out Zuko was behind it years later, after he is sure she's loyal solely to him and willingly tells her the truth.
