I have a question :D about a couple of Blorbos :D

So, Fiddlestan. What do you think about types of settings where it's Cult Fidds and Stan who somehow got involved with said Cult?

(if that's not to your fancy, what is your darkest headcanon about them?)

Cult Fidds is such an interesting route to me, and a Fiddlestan that's centered around that is such an angsty/tragic one.

Under the cut to allow a general cw for topics/routes taken surrounding the memory gun. Just to be safe.

When it comes to being presented with the option of using the memory gun, I've always written Stan as more unwilling. My Stans will weigh the pros/cons but tend to prefer to remember the bad times because then he'll know how to react if it happens again (*double checks causes its been a while since I've reread it* example: Wayward Dimensions and Pines Adrift). That includes trauma like being locked in the trunk but excludes the canon doing it to save his family.

It's a personal opinion I share/project onto him. I don't regret anything I've done and I wouldn't change/forget anything in my past because then I'd be a different person. Butterfly effect and all that.

But a Stanley that becomes involved with Fidds' cult - whether willingly or not - can also be super interesting to explore.

While I don't ship them, it would be hard to avoid some semblance Fiddauthor (cause let's be honest its so obviously in canon. The dude lives in Palo Alto. (Which I had to look up to see how close it was to Stanford University while writing Behind the Screen despite the fact I live nearly right next door) and leaves his wife/kid to spend time with Ford in the middle of nowhere. Not to mention the Christmas gifts. Anyway going off topic).

When I think of a story focused on Cult Fidds, I honestly can't see anyway where it ends up a happy ending for Fiddlestan.

There's the obvious Fidds erases the portal thinking he's Ford.

He erases both Ford and the portal.

He erases Stan's self to mold him into Ford.

Stan willingly asks for help to forget his past and it turns into some kind of stockholm situation cause he keeps remembering.

Stan asks for help and chooses to forget Ford and joins the cult.

There's just so many routes and not one of them that's not toxic in some way. The power balance is always in Fidds' favor.

None of them would be happy without outside help of Ford somehow finding his way back (either on his own or the younger twins starting up the portal) and beating the shit out of them both until they come back to their senses.

It's so interesting to think about, but I don't think I'd ever be able to do Cult Fidds justice in my writing. Writing cult leaders is hard (when I was writing Behind the Screen, Ford was originally supposed to be more actively evil and not just the main face for Bill to puppet. But clearly that didn't happen lol).

As for the darkest headcanon? Uh... probably the stockholm route. Stan would be so broken that the gun would become more addicting than any drug he'd taken. And that he'd give his entire being to Fidds just to feel that emptiness.

So, as a loyal Jimmy fan, let me ask:

Jimmy would then also know he goes missing cause Zeph would tell him, which would change the entirety of Extra Hortum

I know it's a bit early to ask, and if it so - I don't mind waiting for response when it'll be safe to reply, but: how would him knowing about it would change the plot?

(also: ahahahaha somehow Paca's travels seems the most miserable ones)

(Will be touching on Ch 12 Extra Hortum spoilers though so under the cut it goes!)

It basically just boils down to him not falling for the trap in the first place.

Zeph would be able to supply him with a timeline of when he dissappeared, so he'd be able to plan accordingly.

He'd either go a different way of tracking the guy down (something I don't have the brain power to think of atm), or he'd go the route Serra takes and gives his name to Stan as a precaution so that he can't be bound by anyone else. Therefore making it so that Extra Hortum never even needs to happen.

If he went the name route, Stan's command would be so vague that Jimmy's basically only bound by name and still could do whatever the fuck he wanted. And after releasing him, Jimmy would insist on paying him back for helping cause ya know, Fae rules. Stan would just ask for the bell back cause he'd grown attached to it and was kinda pissed it was gone. Lol

(Also I put Paca through the ringer so much I almost feel bad. Almost. He's a little shit and I love him.)

It is!

It's an alternate bad ending that follows Stan's POV and deviates right after his fight with Shifty. Instead of getting his wounds checked out as a human, Petra comes to check on him in one of the cages cause Reyes doesn't change him back right away. So he doesn't find out about Ford's challenge.

I was giggling to myself when I wrote it.

Originally Fidds was going to already be inside the room but felt like that might have rushed the "Stan realizing Fidds is rich" reveal. So instead he's implied to have seen Stan sneak into the room and followed him.

And since Stan's only 18, I figured he hadn't yet picked up any lockpicking skills yet. So he's too distracted/focused to immediately notice he's not alone. Lol

Also! Dunno if you picked it up, but this scene was 100% inspired by Nami and Kaya :)

OH BOY!

Now I haven't played it in some time (it's definitely due for a replay) so I had to look up some things-BUT!

Garrus will ALWAYS be my number 1. He is my husband. And the first second crew mate I romanced in my first playthrough (his face being the one I saw when I first witnessed that last mission in ME3 was fucking heartbreaking!)

That said. Thane is a very close second followed by Wrex.

My Shepard is usually a female Earthborn Sole Survivor. Vanguard is my usual go to class. I enjoy throwing people around lol

I think I've done a single Renegade run. Pretty sure all the others have been Paragon. Though I do enjoy kicking that one guy out the window.

Favorite mission... hm... I thoroughly enjoy any Citadel mission that I'm basically on a date with Garrus. But as another answer it would probably have to be the final mission. Seeing all the work I put into bringing the universe together and seeing everyone fight together is just fantastic.

Ending wise, I coin flip between synthesis and control.

Fuck Ashley. I let her live once to witness the romance but she sucks ass. All the other crew members are chill (though Miranda also gets on my nerves).
